On June 3rd, we held a Pride Flag Raising in front of Shell Energy Stadium with Chamber Impact Partner Houston Dynamo FC and Houston Dash. The crowd was big and festive at the Pride Month Edition of our Friday Meet & Eat at Tacos Doña Lena, a LGBTQ+owned business and Grubhub grantee! Doña Lena started selling her tacos in Salamanca Guanajuato, Mexico. When she moved to the USA in the 1990’s, she continued her taco business from her home. In 2020, after many years of hard work & sacrifice, her dream of opening her very own restaurant finally came true. | |
As part of our annual Pride Month tradition, we brought U.S. Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07) and Acting Under Secretary for Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) Eric Morrissette together for a visit with Chamber Member Black Phlox Candle Company, an LGBTQ+-owned small business in Congresswoman Fletcher’s Congressional District.
