In memory of Christine Woodcock Dettor

In Remembrance

The Central New York Women’s Bar Association (“CNYWBA”) is saddened to learn of the passing of Christine Woodcock Dettor, Esq. (October 29, 1970 – June 23, 2024), a long-time member and supporter of CNYWBA and its mission.



Ms. Dettor received her B.A. from Wellesley College (1992) and her J.D. from the Syracuse University College of Law (1996).


Ms. Dettor was a member of Bousquet Holstein PLLC, where she served on the firm’s Board of Managers for several years. Hailing from a large family, Ms. Dettor was passionate about helping families achieve financial security through proper estate planning. Her community involvements were many and included chairing the Board of Directors of the Central New York Community Foundation and serving on the Jamesville-DeWitt Central School District Board of Education.


Ms. Dettor was a recipient of the Central New York Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Award in 2006, a Super Lawyer in 2014 – 2019 and 2021-2023, received the Best Lawyers of America “Lawyer of the Year” Award in 2023, and Best Lawyers in America for Non-Profit/Charities Law and Trusts and Estates Awards in 2016-2024.


Calling hours are from 10 am to 12 pm tomorrow, Friday, June 28th at Holy Cross Church, DeWitt, with a mass following at noon.
