Our first Food Truck Thursday of the season is April 11th. Come out to the Village Hall from 4:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Public Works Seasonal Crew Members

The Village of Hainesville is looking to fill multiple positions for Seasonal Watering Employees and Seasonal Laborers.

Positions will run from approximately May 1st - October 25th depending on schedule. Salary is $17.00 per hour.

Interviews will begin in April and hiring decisions will be made by April 19th.

YARD WASTE PICK-UP FOR SINGLE FAMILY HOMES

Hainesville's yard waste collection for single family homes runs from April 1st - November 30th. Collection will occur on the same day as your refuse and recycling. Yard waste should be placed in biodegradable "Kraft" type bags not to exceed 33 gallons in size or 50 pounds in weight. Metal or plastic cans may also be used. If landscape waste cannot be reasonably placed in bags or cans, it must be securely tied with biodegradable string or twine in bundles not to exceed 4 feet in length, 24 inches in diameter and 50 pounds in weight.

GARBAGE RATE INCREASE NOTIFICATION

For Single Family Homes

The Village's waste hauler contract with Groot Recycling and Waste Service has a yearly CPI increase. The last increase that was passed onto residents was in 2022.

This year's contractual increase is listed below and is effective May 1, 2024, and they will be reflected on your May utility bill.

Single Family Current Rate $21.00 New Rate $22.00

Seniors 65+ Current Rate $18.90 New Rate $19.80

ESTATE PLANNING 101

Attorneys Mary Lee Berresheim and Amber L. Desselles will be joining our April 4th Great Age Club meeting for a presentation providing a basic understanding of estate planning in Illinois and the default laws implemented by the State that govern where no estate plan exists.

ALL RESIDENTS are invited to join on April 4th at 10:30 a.m.

at the Village Hall.

ANNUAL VILLAGE CLEAN UP

The Village will hold its Annual Village Clean Up on Saturday, April 20th from

9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with Sunday, April 21st as the rain date. A pizza party will follow for all participants.

We will meet at Tall Oak Drive and Hainesville Road at 9:00 a.m. We will supply latex gloves, visible vests, trash bags and water.

We will be cleaning along Hainesville Road, around Cranberry Lake, Hainesville Meadow and along parts of Route 120, depending upon the number of volunteers.

If there is another part of the village you prefer to clean up, we will supply the gloves, vests (if we have enough), bags and water. Just meet us, pick up your supplies and away you go!

HAINESVILLE ORDINANCE UPDATE

Due to recent changes in Federal and State Law, the Village has repealed the entire ordinance which previously placed restrictions upon door-to-door solicitors. With that, your options for dealing with these solicitors is somewhat limited. Our first suggestion is that

you post a "No Solicitors Allowed" sticker at your front door. If a solicitor still approaches

your door, you can ignore them or you can tell them to leave and that you are calling 911 to report them as trespassers.

SWALCO SPECIAL MATERIALS COLLECTIONS

SWALCO Special Materials Collections began in March

Some of the items being collected are latex paint, single-use propane, fire extinguishers and booster/car seats.

MOBILE COLLECTION EVENTS

FOOD SCRAP RECYCLING COMES TO HAINESVILLE

You can now recycle your food scraps in your yard waste containers at no extra charge. Groot recommends that the food waste be placed into a yard waste bag and then place in the yard waste container as to keep the containers clean. Groot will pick up the food scraps and yard waste beginning April 1^st and ending November 30^th. It is best if you use your yard waste container with a lid to keep the animals from getting at it.

The size limit is 33 gallons or 50 lbs.

Another suggestion is to keep the scraps in the freezer till garbage day.

There is no restriction of what food to put in, bones and all.
