Tahoe vs. Plastics

Will you be on the winning side?

Earth Month is here, and it's time to step up for Tahoe. Your help is needed to overcome one of the most pressing issues facing our beloved Lake. It's the battle of Tahoe vs. Plastics.

Over a decade of conducting cleanup events and collecting litter data, it's become clear that plastic litter is far too common in the Basin. From 2014 through 2023, the League and volunteers like you picked up 20,100 plastic bottles, 31,300 plastic caps and 163,800 unidentifiable plastic pieces.

Because of your effort and support, the League helped ban single-use plastic water bottles in South Lake Tahoe, and Truckee recently made the same move. But, the battle is far from over. We need your help at our Earth Month events to Keep Tahoe Blue. Find the ones for you and join us to fight plastic pollution.

April is just the beginning. We have a full calendar of events stretching through September with plenty of chances to get involved.
