Since last Friday, May corn is down 8 cents, while Dec corn is up 2 1/2 cents. May soys are down 6 1/4 cents, while Nov soybeans are up 7 cents. May wheat is down 7 cents, while July wheat is down 8 cents. With tariff news quiet, the speculator crowd had little risk to price in for the 3 day weekend, with markets hovering around unchanged to close.
Japan and the US continue April 17, 2025 to negotiate face to face with President Trump calling the talks “very productive”. Trump also highlighted his phone calls with the president of Mexico, which he also called productive.
U.S. export sales last week were as expected, although China did cancel one cargo of old-crop beans. Mexico, Europe and Egypt were the bean buyers for the week. Net corn sales were a two-month high, led by Mexico.
Rumors suggest that we could get clarity from the EPA on the Renewable Fuel Standard as early as next week.
