Project Updates
Round Hill Park
Allée Update

Work crews have been busy on Round Hill Park's Allée Restoration. Over the past few weeks, all the diseased trees have been removed, and new trees have now been planted. We would like to thank our partner in this work, Allegheny County, and the project funder, FedEx, for ensuring this iconic area of Round Hill Park will live on. We cannot wait to see these trees grow and form a new, more long-term sustainable Allée!

If you have a meaningful story to share about the Allée in Round Hill, please share it with us!
Volunteer Planting in North Park

Last week we had a great planting along North Fork Pine Creek as part of our ongoing Riparian Buffer project. We are so grateful to all the volunteers who attended and helped us to plant 2,000 plugs including 850 Eupatorium, 700 Iris, 350 Helenium, and 64 Rudbeckia. These perennials were specifically chosen to help attract bees, butterflies and other pollinators. Thank you to everyone for coming together to make a major impact in North Park!

Ways to Support
Trees Support Us. Will You Support Our Tree Fund?
Trees give so much to us, like improving the air quality in and around your parks. One example of this is the Red Maple Tree which is found in Boyce Park and throughout the 9 county parks. The Red Maple helps to clean the air we breathe by scrubbing pollutants as the leaves rustle in the breeze. Donations to our Tree Fund will ensure native trees like the Red Maple can continue to be planted throughout your 9 Allegheny County Parks, thus ensuring that your air quality is continually being improved. Will you give back like trees do and make a donation for the Red Maple Tree today?

P.S. If you like learning fun facts about trees like this and their impact within your parks then be sure to follow us on our social media. This summer we are exploring 9 parks, 9 different native trees and 9 benefits that trees give our communities! Follow us on Facebook or Instagram to learn about trees this summer!
