Alternative Worship Task Force Update
June is"Let's Have a Conversation" Month
| |
The Alternative Worship Task Force is eager to hear from our SAKLC family to gather your thoughts and preferences for a different type of worship service aside from our Sunday services. You have a unique opportunity to help create this new service through your participation in the Conversation sessions. On Tuesday, June 18 there is a Zoom session on-line and on Sunday, June 23, an in-person after worship session - each just one hour. Spaces are still available and it is easy to enroll. A Task Force member will be in the Narthex before and after the Sunday service to help you sign up. You may also click on the link below or scan the QR code in your bulletin insert to register online. We encourage you to participate in one of these Conversations and have your voice heard. Mark 3:20-35 (Genesis 3:8-15, Psalm 130, 2 Corinthians 4:13-5:1) - SAKLC | The phrase "to turn something inside out" springs to mind this week. It is a sense that begins with the opening words of the Gospel text: "Jesus went home." We think of home as a place of safety, acceptance, and belonging.
The Community Service Ministry received an emergency call to supply food to Second Chance Last Opportunity. We answered the need with cases of water, veggies, fruits, pasta and more. A huge thank you goes out to the SAKLC Foundation and the members of our congregation for the CSM to be able to respond to such needs.
