FORTE VisionTree Manual

Once enrolled in FORTE, participants are asked to complete forms related to demographics, family history, health, diet, and lifestyle factors.

VisionTree emails often go to spam/junk, and can be difficult for participants to identify. Here are some options for site staff to assist participants with completing VisionTree PRO questionnaires:

  • After consent and randomization, send a sample email to the participant along with other instructions and information (such as the stool kit instructions) so they know to watch out for the nondescript VisionTree email
  • Register another email address (such as your own) and forward the VisionTree email to the participant after randomization since they would be more familiar with your contact information
  • Have the participant complete questionnaires on paper and manually enter the data into Rave
  • Complete questionnaires over the phone and enter the data into Rave For detailed information and instructions, see Protocol Section 11.0.

Review the FORTE VisionTree Manual on CTSU for further guidance on helping participants complete their questionnaires. For staff new to VisionTree or NRG-CC005, monthly training sessions with VisionTree are available for research professionals new to this tool. Register for monthly NRG Oncology VisionTree training and review NRG Oncology VisionTree FAQs. Watch the FORTE VisionTree demo from the FORTE Workshop in July 2023.

NRG-CC005 Protocol Amendment #7

NRG-CC005 Amendment 7 (NCI Version Date: December 10, 2024) was activated on January 21, 2025 in the US. Please review the new protocol version for updates including the patient eligibility age being lowered from 50 to 45. Revised protocol-related documents reflecting this change were posted to CTSU on February 5.

NOTE: Revised patient-facing materials will be posted to CTSU upon approval by the CIRB.

NRG Oncology Partners with TravaLab to offer Mobile Phlebotomy

FORTE is offering sites the opportunity to implement remote blood draws with participants enrolled in NRG-CC005. NRG Oncology is working with TravaLab, an online portal that offers mobile phlebotomy services nationwide, to conduct blood draws for FORTE. This process will complement remote consent processes at all participating sites to increase overall accrual to NRG-CC005.

No additional contracting or payment is required for sites to use this service, but you must opt-in for the service by notifying NRG Oncology. Opting in does not obligate you to use the service. Review the revised NRG-CC005 funding sheet on CTSU for payment information with TravaLab.

The FORTE team has created the FORTE TravaLab Manual - Mobile Phlebotomy to guide sites on implementing mobile phlebotomy. Review this document to determine if your site may partner with TravaLab to offer this service to your participants.

To get started with TravaLab, fill out the TravaLab Registration Form on CTSU and submit it to forte@nrgoncology.org.

In case you missed it, the previous site call was on February 12th, where Mary Jo Antonelli, Director of Quality Assurance and Operational Support at NRG ONCOLOGY, reviewed NRG audit processes for FORTE sites. Watch the recording to hear important protocol updates and review NRG audit information.

Join the quarterly FORTE site calls to hear updates on NRG-CC005 and discuss challenges and solutions with other research professionals working to enroll patients to this clinical trial. Registration for these virtual sessions are in these monthly FORTE Fridays broadcasts. The next FORTE Site Call will be on May 14th with a presentation from VisionTree.
