Lamp Sales Restrictions in IMERC States

Many states have enacted - or will be enacting - laws that restrict the sale of certain mercury-added lamps. IMERC has worked with its members to produce a quick-reference table navigating these lamp sales restrictions and their implementation timelines across the IMERC states.

The Lamp Sales Restriction Table linked below contains summary information and direct links to applicable provisions in IMERC states’ respective laws where more details can be found.

Lamp Sales Restriction Table

We encourage you to share this document with trade associations, manufacturers, distributors, importers, and retailers whose inventory includes mercury-added products that are offered for sale in IMERC states.

IMPORTANT: This table only covers the IMERC member states. There are a number of non-IMERC states that have also enacted laws to phase out certain mercury-added lamps, including California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Oregon, and Washington.

Training Opportunities for Manufacturers

LAST CHANCE!

As individuals with historical knowledge of mercury-product labeling requirements move on from companies, many manufacturers are left uncertain about their labeling compliance. IMERC recognizes these challenges and is offering a specialized training series, open to manufacturers only, to provide manufacturers with clarity and guidance on the standard labeling requirements for mercury-added products.

Currently, we have two sessions scheduled - both of which will be led by IMERC Coordinator Karen Knaebel, who joined NEWMOA after serving for 25 years as a state mercury-project coordinator in the state that originally approved all manufacturer labeling plans. These sessions offer a rare opportunity to learn from someone with extensive historical knowledge of the regulatory process.
