Reiki Classes
Although Reiki class dates have not been posted, Caring Palms is still teaching Reiki. Because of logistics, Reiki 1 is being taught to two people at a time, which makes it a comfortable and personal class. If you are interested in taking a Reiki 1 class, please call or email and we can set one up.
I have scheduled a Reiki 2 for the end of July. I ask for those interested, please sign up early as I will be trying to find a location to have ths class.
Reiki 3 can be taught to as little as 2 people at a time, or to bigger groups. Those interested should contact Caring Palms so a class can be scheduled.
I am still looking to hold a Reiki 4 class (Reiki and crystals), so those interested should let me know.

Life and Death
by Brian Dean
Life is life, and death is death. Or is it? Death is leaving the body, leaving this current life. But many believe that we are returning to the true life, the one we live when we are not inhabiting a body.
Mediums, by their own work, tend to prove that life goes on. They connect with people who have passed from the life we have known them in, and connect them with people still on this side. Evidential mediumship does its best to prove what spirit is talking by describing them, their actions, places they lived, how they passed, the relationship they had with someone on this side, and other information. They then give messages which proves that those on the other side are still watching, still engaged with us.
But while we miss those that have passed greatly, we feel their legacy as the things they touched, the things they created live on.
As one passes through life, they leave marks, something that lets us know that they were here. Those marks could include something they built, or some routine that one still follows. It could be stories they used to tell, or memories they shared. These are all just things that were passed on that still make a difference. And that difference could affect a small number of people, or a large number. Either way, it is a mark on the lives that this person touched.
My cousin, George, passed away a few days ago. (My Dad came from a big family, so there are cousins all over the place, and hard to remember who was who.) But I do remember cousin George. I remember his humor more than anything else. We connected a few years back on Facebook, so it was good knowing what was going on up in Maine. I think I was 14 when I last saw him (yeah, it’s been a while). But even that contact impacted me all these years. More outpourings on his FB page commenting on all the stories he told gives one an idea of how many lives he touched.
The point is that while we are here, we affect people. We leave memories. We leave emotions and stories. We leave marks. And once we’re gone these marks continue to affect those touched for a long time.
So, mourn the loss from this life. Celebrate a life lived and things learned. Know that they are safe and well on the other side. And remember the moments, the marks left, and pass those and your own on to others.

See the above article for more information on Reiki classes.
Caring Palms schedules Reiki classes throughout the year. We are currently holding these classes at the studio because we have not been getting enough students to cover the rising cost of conference room rentals. We are also limiting the class size to 2 students (Reiki 1 and Reiki 3, with a few more allowed for Reiki 2 as we only need one table for that).
The following is a list of currently scheduled Reiki Classes. Each class requires a minimum of two (2) students to happen.
Classes can be scheduled any day (Tuesday thru Saturday) provided there are no other appointments scheduled.
If you are interested in taking a class, and one is not listed, please call and one can be scheduled.
You may sign up for any of these through the website, or over the phone with a credit card.
Reiki 1
- TBD - a class can be scheduled at any time for two students. If interested, please let us know.
Reiki 2
Reiki 3
Reiki 4
- Saturday - To Be Determined
More classes will be added based on how the ones currently on the schedule go.
All classes are open to anyone wanting to learn this unique method of hands-on healing. The cost for each class is $150 no matter what level of Reiki the class is for. A $75 deposit is required a minimum of seven (7) days prior to the class date (or permission of the instructor) to reserve a space in the class. Full payment must be received two (2) days before the class date. Classes with no deposits received by the cut off date will be canceled. All class statuses may be viewed under Reiki, Reiki Class Information, and Class Schedule. You can also sign up for classes there. (Check the website for the location.)
Reiki 1, 2, and 3 classes are Florida Board of Massage Approved for six (6) Continuing Education Hours (CEUs)

Stepping Out, Or In, Or Over
by Brian Dean
What do we focus on when we walk? Is it where we are going, where we have been? Or is it where we are putting our feet? Each is important, but can we focus on it all at once?
One must always be aware of their surroundings. Yet, too many are oblivious. If you want to understand that, just go to the grocery store. We see people that block the aisles with their carts while looking at something 10 feet away.
I tend to look around, and move so I am not impacting others. I feel what is coming up behind me, to the side, in front. I try to blend in with the flow of things instead of blocking things or fighting the current. Admittedly, I do occasionally get centrally focused, also call tunnel vision, but this is the exception, not the rule.
The point is that we need to constantly look around, see what is going on. Am I blocking someone? Am I about to step into a hole? We need to expand our focus so that it includes all things, not just what you are aiming at.
I’ve talked about setting a goal, and moving toward it. But while one is on their route, they need to spread their focus to notice everything around them, not just the goal. It is the things around one that makes the changes they need to reach that goal. Without those, they would never make it.
The same thing is true for anything. One needs to focus on what is around them all the time. This will help keep one safe in dangerous situations, and just make life easier.
However, I’ve noticed that when walking, I tend to focus on one thing rather than all things. And I think that this is true for everyone as they get older. If I am out walking, I tend to look where I am placing my feet as the ground if not perfectly flat. If I don’t look where I step, I could trip and fall. But I also do not notice things around me so much. But when I am in a building with a flat floor, I tend to look where I am going and not so much where I step. This is crucial as when at home I have to look out for things in my way, like dogs, something someone left lying around, etc. (This is why older people fall so much.)
So it is a learning to expand one’s focus, and notice all that is around. Time to come out of the tunnel and put sensors on max.

Leave a Review, Enter Our Drawing
|
Leave a review and be entered in a drawing to win a free session. If you have enjoyed the services at Caring Palms, whether that be massage, Reiki, or classes, or something else, please leave a review on one of the review sites like Google, Facebook, or any of the many places that take reviews. Lately, it has been these reviews that have been bringing new clients into the studio, and all have been glad they found us.
Anyone leaving a review will be entered into the monthly drawing to win a free session (massage or Reiki). Reviews made between the first and last day of each month will go into the drawing, and the winner will be pulled on the first of every month. Thank you all that have left reviews, and congratulations to the people who have already won free sessions.
Note: We are asking people not to post on Yelp unless you are a person that posts there regularly. Yelp has some qualifying software that looks at each review, and if you are a regular poster, your comment is deemed "Relevant", otherwise your comment is marked "Not Relevant". While Caring Palms has 20 5-star reviews on Yelp, only seven of them are deemed "Relevant", and one has to go through another step to see the remaining 13.

Brian is now doing readings to anyone that wants to sit for one for $50 for up to one hour. Keep in mind, these are mediumship readings, not psychic readings. If you have an interest, please contact Brian and something can be scheduled. These can also be scheduled from the website. For more information on readings, please go to the Mediumship tab on the website, and then you can see several articles about mediumship including what to expect, and what happens during a session.
