Dear Parents,
I am happy to say that week two of summer camp finds all of our students settling into their new routines in their new classrooms. Thank you so much to my amazing staff for making the transitions go so smoothly. With so many families stepping in and out of camp, our class sizes are quite small. This offers some real benefits for our newest students as well as those transitioning to new routines.
This week I have particularly loved seeing all the great hands-on activities taking place in our Kindergarten through second grade classes. I have also loved seeing all the great art projects being completed school wide. Our Early Childhood staff is doing a great job implementing our new Frog Street curriculum. They were trained well and are working hard to implement all area of the curriculum. We are so very grateful to have received a nearly $50,000 grant from the Early Learning Coalition who gifted our school with the Frog Street program.
We are also super excited for the recent playground grant we also received from The Early Learning Coalition (ELC). The kids may have told you about the new bikes and puzzles. Soon we will be getting three 20 foot x 20 foot shade structures. This $20,000 playground grant will help us to make outdoor time extra special for your child. ELC does more than offer Early Childhood Grants to support providers. They also help families with childcare payment assistance. This week I began enrolling our Step Up families into the state portal so they can use the state scholarships ranging from $8000-$10,000. If your child will be in our elementary school and you either have not applied or have not turned in your child's award ID please do so as soon as possible.
