A new 103,000 sq. ft. three-story Clayton County Administration Building will be located on an 18-acre parcel of land on Old Poston Road in Jonesboro. The facility will be home to several county departments including the Board of Commissioners, Finance, Human Resources, Legal and Communications. | |
Update: Design documents are being created for the facility’s landscaping and building sign options are under consideration.

New welcome signs will be strategically placed at the North, South, East, and West entrances of the county. The welcome signs will showcase the county's new brand logo to welcome and engage our citizens and visitors when entering the County, including the airport area. | |

The senior center’s interior is receiving a complete renovation to include bathroom upgrades, interior lighting replacement, installing a new washer and dryer and interior wall and ceiling finishes to include wall patching and painting. A new entrance canopy with two new ADA compliant ramps for accessibility will round out the exterior renovations. | |

The Fleet Maintenance Expansion Project will revitalize the existing facility to include an upgrade to its electrical system, new HVAC, vehicle lifts, flooring, windows, and doors. In addition, a new oil pump system and air lines are planned as well as painting the interior and exterior of the building. | |
Update: Hose reels for oil and air lines will be replaced. An air storage tank will be added to increase the volume of compressed air to the existing system.

This project consist of constructing an asphalt ADA accessible walking trail from Plantation Parkway crossing over Harbour Town Parkway continuing to Harbour Lake Drive cul-de-sac through 16.32 acres. | |

Renovations of the VIP Complex at International Park integrate outdoor spaces while maintaining a multi-functional facility for arts and entertainment. The new Winter Weather Supply and Storage Building will be located behind the Clayton County Jail on Post Way in Jonesboro. The facility will be used to store approximately 14 days of cold weather material such as salt, sand, and gravel. In addition, it will serve as storage for a salt brine maker and brine solution and house snowplows and spreaders. | |

Tennis courts at the International Park Tennis Center, Gerald Matthews Tennis Complex, Independence Park and Flat Shoals Park will be resurfaced with new fencing and landscaping installed. The $1.16 million project is estimated to eight to 10 months to complete. | |
Update: Crews are pressure washing the walkways around the courts at International Park and the courts have been opened to the public.
The tennis courts at Independence Park and Flat Shoals Park have been paved. Contractors will begin applying the top coating, spraying lines and applying sealant in mid-July 2024.
