The Fate of the World is in the Hands of Nameless Saints
Dr. Paul Bilheimer in his classic book, Destined for the Throne, reminds us that "the fate of the world is in the hands of nameless saints."
At a certain time in the past in the country of Myanmar (Burma), where the gospel is considerably restricted, 400 saints gathered under the banner of World Network of Prayer in two prayer summits to intercede for our world. We rejoice in that, but I remember the lone prayer evangelist strapping himself with rope to the back step board of an open jeep as his only way of getting to an unevangelized area. There he would seclude himself in deep intercession for the souls of the lost. He and many others tilted the scales in this Buddhist country until the Spirit was poured out and we have a thriving church despite obstacles.
"The fate of the world is in the hands of nameless saints" interceding in prayer!
I also remember where the Holy Ghost was poured out on thousands of praying Presbyterians in Northeast India. I remember the dedicated workers trudging through the wilderness, pushing out the frontiers of the Kingdom with blood-sucking leeches locking onto their legs. To redeem the time in reaching their unevangelized location, they wouldn't stop until they had at least six leeches which needed to be removed.
"The fate of the world is in the hands of nameless saints" praying and going!
Retrospectively, in my own Louisiana, a praying mother concerned for her family and community was surely the cause of the breakdown of the car of an itinerant Pentecostal pioneer preacher. In the middle of the night, Bro. Hawthorne was forced to knock on her door to ask for help. When he identified himself she started praising God, shouting and dancing, because she said, "I have been praying for a preacher and a church!" One of many churches birthed by prayer started the next night on her front porch.
"The fate of the world is in the hands of nameless saints," praying people…
The World Network of Prayer is not a program. It is the hub to motivate, direct, and focus prayer for the ultimate purpose of proclaiming the gospel of the Kingdom to the whole world. When prayer was lifted to the place of priority in Acts 6:4, "we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word," something very special happened. Not only did the number of disciples greatly multiply, but a company of priests was obedient to the faith (Acts 6:7). God is bigger than any of us and He will fulfill the promise of the great outpouring of the Holy Ghost on this world. Prayer is the escort for this outpouring. I plead for the priority of prayer among us. When prayer becomes the continual priority, the disciples will multiply, and the obedient priests and ministers will become the multiplied laborers Jesus told us to pray for when he spoke of the great harvest in Luke 10:2. Jesus said, "The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few: pray …"
“The fate of the world is in the hands of nameless saints." Are you one of them?

Hands Up!
“Hands up” is not a sign of surrender for us when in the midst of the battle against the enemy, but it is quite the contrary. In this case it is a symbol of prayer and support (I Kings 8:54, Psalm 144:2). When Moses lowered his hands in the battle due to fatigue, Aaron and Hur interceded by holding up his hands, and the enemy was defeated (Exodus 17:8-13). Truly, Moses was in good hands! This Biblical account is a powerful example of the role that intercessors play in the success of a ministry. Likewise, intercessors can stand in the gap and help carry the burdens by holding up the hands of our ministers and those who lead the fight in the spiritual battles of the Church so that the victory may be wrought!
The Apostle Paul stated, “Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith” (II Thessalonians 3:1-2). Even earlier, Paul had expressed “Brethren, pray for us” in I Thessalonians 5:25. It is evident that one of a minister’s primary responsibilities is to deliver the messages that God has given. Prayer provides a covering from the attack of the enemy and other hindrances that would attempt to prohibit the Word from going forth.
The Apostle Paul needed a helping hand and requested prayer so that the message he was carrying would have free course (go forth unhindered) in God’s full power and anointing. Paul also recognized that the enemy would try to impede progress directly through the work of wickedness and evil men, as he often faced opposition. Likewise, it is so for all ministers who have a message that God has given to relay.
Do not allow the adversary or your flesh to hinder you from prayer for the Ministry. When either attempt to do so, say “talk to the hand” and shun any opposition. Get that hand up in the air with the other one in prayer and support. If the Apostle Paul needed prayer, then surely all ministers today need it too!
Let’s put our hands up in prayer today and pray for the Ministry greater than we have ever prayed before! Surely, “the Hand of God” will work on behalf of the ministry, and because we put our “hands up,” we will win, “hands down!”

The World Network of Prayer Presents
24/7 WATCH: A Year-Round Initiative for 24/7 Prayer
As of January 1, 2023, WNOP has continued the 24/7 prayer and fasting chain worldwide. It has been such a great success in 2022 that it was requested again. Each week WNOP is posting a prayer focus as daily prayer for the entire week. Also, weekly a video is posted on the WNOP Facebook Page of a prayer leader and/or minister leading in periodic prayer.
Many people throughout the world have signed up by committing in their hearts unto God that they will consistently join together in united prayer and fasting. WNOP also has partnered with those in local churches who are already a part of a current 24-hour prayer chain. All of these hours of consecration are culminating to help provide a complete mass prayer covering over the entire Church body and to help bring greater success in all that we do in Christ! Together, let’s “watch and pray” and behold great and mighty things in the kingdom of God! Let’s prevail over the enemy with victory and declare, “Not on My Watch!”
