Advancing health care in Georgina

The Town of Georgina, Southlake Regional Health Centre and the Northern York South Simcoe Ontario Health Team (NYSS OHT) have joined forces to improve local health and wellness through a new memorandum of understanding (MOU). Signed at an announcement on June 27, local MPP Caroline Mulroney's agreement establishes a formal relationship between the parties around shared goals of improving services for residents in Georgina. Up to $210,000 is being invested by the Town of Georgina to help implement and advance the MOU's shared goals. The funding will support MOU administration through a dedicated project lead at Southlake. To learn more, visit georgina.ca/HealthCare.

Climate Change Action Survey

The Town is developing a Climate Change Action Plan to prioritize climate risks and corresponding actions for the community. There are hundreds of possible climate actions such as planting trees, preparing our infrastructure for worsening weather conditions, writing policies and ensuring safe places for people during extreme weather events. Take our survey to provide input into the Climate Change Action Plan and for a chance to win a rain barrel. Visit georgina.ca/ClimateAction to learn more.
