Queen's University International Centre

So happy the Spring season is here! Rain Li (she/her) has recently joined the QUIC student staff team and wanted to say a few words:

"Hi everyone,

My name is Rain and I’m currently finishing my first year of the Commerce program. I'm an international student from China, and I’m bilingual in Mandarin and English.

In my role as the QUIC Media Assistant, I’m committed to connecting with student groups, sharing promotion of events in the university community, while delivering timely, accurate, and thorough information about QUIC’s offerings. I’m also excited to launch an updated WeChat account, broadening our communication channels to better serve and engage with students. My decision to join QUIC was driven by my own positive experiences—from the helpful pre-arrival sessions to engaging events like the Spanish night, which made me feel the incredible support and kindness from QUIC; I want to help ensuring every student can benefit from these opportunities and feel as welcomed as I did.

My free time is filled with photography, skiing, and karaoke. I'm particularly drawn to the music of Jay Chou. I love spending afternoons walking in nature and taking photos of animals and clouds. I’m also very passionate about behavioral psychology, and have taken PSYC100 in first-year. Happy to chat with people having the same interests!

Living on campus in Leggett Hall during my first year, I was just a minute's walk from Ontario Lake. The views there are always breathtaking, and walking along the lake is truly refreshing—definitely my favorite aspect of being at Queen’s."
