We are excited to announce that the time has come for our 8th grade Promotion Ceremony! During the last week of school, your student will receive Promotion invitations from their Elevate teacher.

Finals are coming soon, May 8-13th! It is important that students are attending school so that they do not miss these last vital grades to finish the 23/24 school year strong! If your student will be absent during any of those days, please reach out to teachers to arrange a make-up time.

We are excited to invite you to join us for the CEC Spring Fun Run on May 11th! This event promises to be a fun and energizing way to spend time with your family, while also supporting a great cause. This fundraising event will provide scholarships for students who wish to attend our out-of-state field trips next year! To register, there is a fee of $35 per family, and students and teachers run for free. Plus, one Youth Size L T-shirt is included with registration. If you would like to purchase additional T-shirts for your student, they are available for $15, but please note that they are specific to grade level and availability is limited, so it's first come, first served. Ms. Lerner, Mr. Buchanan, and Ms. Martinez celebrated Earth Day with our 6th and 7th-grade student volunteers. These fabulous volunteers picked up trash at Meadows Park (and yes, they wore gloves!). The students really enjoyed themselves and even asked to do it more often. We are so proud of our students for sacrificing their lunch and recess to take care of our community!

Mark your calendars! CECFC Farm to School's 2nd Annual Seedling Sale is coming up! This year our students are seeding a variety of vegetable starts, including tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and herbs!

You can pre-order your seedlings starting May 1st via our online reservation form (link to come) or in person at CECFC's end of year band (May 2nd) or choir (May 7th) concerts. Seedlings will be ready for pick up on Thursday, May 16th at our Farm to School Summer Kickoff! Questions? Please contact Kristin Maxwell. 

Like vegetable gardening? Come get your hands in the soil this summer and help CECFC tend our Farm to School gardens! We are looking for parent and student volunteers to help weed, harvest, and pack produce, as well as to staff our stand at the Fort Collins farmer's market.

💚 Knowing when to turn to friends, family, and coworkers when you’re struggling with life’s challenges can help improve your mental health.  

💚 Want to know where to start with mental health advocacy? There are things *everyone* can do to improve the way mental health conditions are perceived and treated. Check out the toolkit above 

💚 FACTORS: To understand how our world affects our mental health, it’s important to learn which factors are at play. These range from things we CAN change (screen time 📱 relationships) and things we CAN’T change (access to resources 🏠 current events 📰).  

💚 Current events, loneliness, technology, and social drivers are the top four things affecting everyone’s mental health today.  

💚 A 2022 study found that 73% of American adults reported being overwhelmed by the number of crises going on in the world. The good news? Taking action and advocating for causes you care about can be therapeutic in its own way. 



💚 Here are 5 things you can do for your #mentalhealth this week:  

1. Make a list of 5 things you’re grateful for today.  

2. Practice positive affirmations.  

3. Start a conversation about mental health.  

4. Stay hydrated!  

5. Take a break from screens.  



Together we can create a community where everyone feels empowered to prioritize their mental well-being and seek help when needed.

Students are NOT allowed to bring medication to school unless they have completed a Medication Authorization Form. Please contact Ms. Martinez at lyniah.lester-martinez@coloradoearlycolleges.org if your child needs to take medication during school hours.

Happy New Year! Here are some friendly reminders about illnesses and absences. Let’s have a healthy spring semester!! 

• Illnesses: Please DO NOT SEND students to school if they are ill. 

• Contact Attendance with details if your student is out due to illness.
• Students must stay home for at least 24 hours after a fever has resolved without fever reducing medications to lower the fever.
• Students must stay home for at least 24 hours after vomiting and/or diarrhea without medication to reduce those symptoms.
• If your student has missed [5 consecutive days] or [7 days in a two-week period] due to illness, please provide medical documentation for these absences to be excused.
• ·    COVID-19: If your student is diagnosed with COVID-19, they should remain home from school for 5 full days since symptom onset or positive test. Your student should return only after symptoms have resolved. Masking is recommended for days 6 through 10.
