On behalf of the New Jersey Juvenile Justice Commission, the New Jersey State Council on the Arts is soliciting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from prospective artists to design, fabricate, and install artwork for two new secure juvenile justice campuses being constructed in Ewing and Winslow Townships, New Jersey. The proposed artwork for the new campuses is part of the New Jersey Arts Inclusion Program. These three calls seek responses from artists who have experience in public art projects of similar scope and budget size, and who are willing and able to contract with the State of New Jersey.

The New Jersey State Council on the Arts will be hosting a free, virtual meet and greet for Teaching Artists on June 3, 2024 | 1:00 - 3:00 PM. Registered Teaching Artists will have the opportunity to meet with arts organizations looking to engage with and hire Teaching Artists.

HOW IT WORKS: Teaching Artists will be able to self-select breakout rooms managed by arts organizations across the state. Organizations will be assigned 15 minutes to present about their programming and allow for TAs to ask questions about their hiring requirements, available positions, and more. At the conclusion of the 15 minutes, TAs will have the opportunity to self-select another organization or stay in the current organization’s breakout room. Presentation materials for all participating organizations will be made available to registered attendees.

WHO WILL BE THERE: The State Arts Council welcomes over 15 arts organizations from across the state. To learn more about who will be in attendance, download the Speed Networking Brochure.

Registration is required to access the organizational materials, as well as attend the Speed Networking Event. Registration will close on Tuesday, May 28. No late registrations will be accepted. This event is intended for Teaching Artists and the registered arts organizations. The New Jersey State Council on the Arts is hosting quarterly Teaching Artist Community of Practice meetings. These virtual sessions serve as a platform for teaching artists to share their experiences, discuss new opportunities, and connect with each other and the State Arts Council. Through loosely moderated discussions, the sessions provide an opportunity to network with other New Jersey teaching artists, share challenges and successes of working in the state, and discuss what teaching artistry could look like as we move into the future.
