Happy April!

We had so much fun at our Annual Gala “Set Sail to Habitat Island." It was so wonderful to celebrate with our honorees, Habitat families, donors, supporters, volunteers, friends and so many others. During this National Diversity Month, we honor and recognize the diversity surrounding us all. I often speak about the village that helps us to continue building affordable homes since our inception in 1985. Our village members are from all walks of life but they share the same passion of transforming the lives of members of disadvantaged and marginalized communities. Research reveals that improving affordable homeownership leads to numerous outcomes that extend beyond the house, such as greater economic stability, access to quality education, increased civic and social engagement, better health, and a reduced environmental footprint. Thank you for investing your time, talent, and treasure in the work that we do!

At Habitat CFC, we put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope.

Blessings!

Ensuring Legacy: Four Habitat Homeowners Sign Wills for Their Estate

In a testament to foresight and planning, this month, four Habitat homeowners secured the future of their estates by signing wills. Attorney Mike Sohon facilitated the Will & estate Planning workshop, guiding homeowners through the process with care and expertise.

Habitat for Humanity, known for its mission to provide affordable housing, not only transforms lives by offering stable homes but also empowers individuals to plan for their future. Recognizing the importance of estate planning, the organization collaborated with Attorney Mike Sohon to offer a free workshop tailored to the specific needs of Habitat CFC homeowners.

During the fall workshop, homeowners were educated on the significance of having a will, especially for individuals with assets and loved ones to protect. Sohon meticulously crafted personalized wills for each homeowner, taking into account their unique circumstances and preferences. The process was not just about legal documentations; it is a journey of empowerment and security for these homeowners. Through discussions and consultations, they were able to articulate their wishes and ensure that their legacies would be upheld according to their desires.

For many Habitat homeowners, the idea of estate planning might seem daunting or unfamiliar. However, with the guidance of Sohon and the support of the Habitat CFC community, they embraced the opportunity to take control of their futures.

The signing of the wills symbolized more than just legal formalities; it represents a commitment to safeguarding their hard-earned assets and providing for their loved ones even beyond their lifetime.

In the end, it's not just about the bricks and mortar of a Habitat CFC home; it's about dreams, aspirations, and lasting impact of those who call it home. And with the signing of their wills, these homeowners have ensured that their legacy will endure for years to come.
