Senior Pastor's Message

Dear Saint Mark Family,

Let me begin by welcoming our newest members, who joined our Saint Mark family this past Sunday:

·     Lexi Sack

·     Russell McKinney and Mark Jefferson

·     William and Peter Mathews-Martire

Some have been actively serving at Saint Mark for years, others are returning or have been attending worship for months. We are thankful for their presence, and we celebrate that they have chosen to become members, and have committed to support and participate in the life of our church by their prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness.

This past Sunday we wrapped up our Mental Health series with a heartfelt and moving sermon by Pastor Andy. I am thankful for the opportunity we had to share on this important topic, and I pray you will reach out to us if you or anyone you know is in need of help. I am also thankful for the wisdom of Dr, Jill Lee Barber, who shared with us weekly. Here is the link https://stmarkumc.church/Come-Apart to the final interview with her, regarding taking time apart for our mental health and overall well-being.

Next week Wednesday, March 5th, will be Ash Wednesday, and the beginning of Lent. Our Lenten theme this year is Stay Focused, and our Lenten Devotional will be emailed and published digitally each day. On Ash Wednesday morning, from 7am to 9am, we will be imposing ashes in front of the church on the Peachtree Road terrace. I encourage you to stop by on your way to work, or as you are able. We will also have our Ash Wednesday service at 6:30pm in the sanctuary, immediately after Wednesday Night Supper.

Finally, this Sunday, which will be Transfiguration Sunday, we will celebrate Communion and share on the Glory and the Responsibility of being witnesses and disciples of Jesus Christ. Immediately after worship we will have our Sunday Social on the terrace, where you will have the opportunity to gather and fellowship with each other, with light refreshment being served.

I look forward to seeing you this Sunday.

God’s peace,

Pastor Caolyn.
