Come, Meet Our Pastors

It's the beginning of a new month, so it's time to join them for Pastors in the Gathering Area scheduled for TODAY (5/2) at 10am. Pastors Luke and Meggan set this time on the first Thursday of each month to visit with church friends, so stop by for a visit.

Plans for Sunday

This Sunday (5/5) is the first Sunday of a new month. Hope you'll join us when we partake in Communion and share a look back at another period of our church history as part of our 175th Jubilee. During worship, we'll read Psalm 98 and John 15:9-17 (click for links) and learn about one of God's greatest gifts to each one of us - joy! We'll also see how God's love for each one of us should be mirrored by us to others. See you Sunday!

> Following worship, we'll be holding a brief Congregational Meeting. The purpose is to select a new class of Ruling Elders and Deacons to help lead our church family through the coming years.

> This week our Joyful Noise group will be leading us in "10,000 Reasons" and "All the People Said Amen." Click titles for video links to help you become more familiar with the songs. Service recordings are available on our website and Facebook page about an hour after the service is completed (*find links at end).

Our Youth Sunday School is winding down for the program year. Pre K-12th graders only have three more Sundays. Per tradition, we'll wrap up classes the Sunday before Memorial Day, which is May 19 this year. We'll have two "normal" weeks, then end with food and fun outside (weather permitting) on the last Sunday.

*Adult Class

Join us in the Koinonia Lounge for the final installment of our This We Believe: Eight Truths Presbyterians Affirm study. This week we'll focus on "Truth #8 - We Serve God with Heart and Mind." Discover how God continues to use all of our intellect and senses to communicate His grace and truth. Also, be aware that Adult Sunday School will wrap up the season on Sunday, May 12.

Youth Update

> It's the first Sunday of the month, and that means it's time for our monthly Youth Coffee Shop & Bake Sale after church. Proceeds help support the youth and their activities and events including their summer trip to "The Great Escape." *Please let Scott McPherson or Pastor Meggan know if you're bringing a baked good or can help on the morning of the sale.

> Join us this Sunday evening (5/5) from 6-7:30pm downstairs in the Youth Media Room. as we begin to wrap up the year by talking about Jesus' greatest commandments. We only have two more regular gatherings (this Sunday and May 12th), then we'll wrap up the year by saying goodbye to our seniors and welcoming our incoming 6th graders at our Annual Cookout on May 19th from 5:30 - 7:30pm.

Reformers Return in May

Carpe Diem! Join our Dead Reformers Society on Tuesday (5/7) at 7pm at Badger State Brewing ((990 Tony Canadeo Run, G.B.) near Lambeau Field. This month we'll discuss the life and legacy of British philosopher and author, Sir Roger Scruton (1927-2020).

“Beauty is vanishing from our world because we live as though it did not matter.”

Have a Graduate?

Do you have a graduate in your home? It could be from high school, college, graduate school, a special program, or trade. If you do, please email Pastor Meggan any information (including a photo) that you would like to include in one of our "Monday Spotlight" emails. We want to share your successes with our church family. The deadline is Sunday, May 19th, so don't delay. We'll only include those who email us, so help spread the word.

It's Your Teen's Serve

We've begun a new weekly event called Middle & Senior High Volleyball Time in our Family Life Center. All friends in that age group are invited to come by on Mondays anytime between 3 & 5pm to have some fun and enjoy some volleyball!

Time for Spring Clean-Up

Our Building & Grounds Ministry is calling for lots of volunteers to help us with our 2024 Spring Clean-Up. It's coming on Saturday (5/11) from 8am until noon. There will be projects both inside and out for helpers of all ages, so please stop by and help us get everything looking great for the summer!

Sharing the Love

Thanks so much to our amazing Agape Drive-Thru Dinner team of volunteers who shared the love yesterday by preparing the food, packing it all together, and serving it on behalf of our church family. Lots of friends and neighbors wrapped around the parking lot to share in our event kicking off a new month. Our next Agape Drive-Thru is planned for June 5.

It's Almost Garden Time

Our Judy Allan Memorial Garden is about to begin another wonderful season of veggies for our area shelters, plus neighbors and friends. Thanks to everyone who's donated to help support our garden. In case you'd still like to help with financial donations, click HERE for a link. Watch for more details coming soon about how you can help with the planting and care.

Live VBS Registration!

Come join us July 21 - July 25 for an amazing undersea adventure called "Scuba Diving into Friendship with God" where your kids will experience the ever-flowing, never-ending love of God! Click HERE (or visit our website) to register your kids to attend or to volunteer to help during the event. The first 15 families to register will receive a free copy of the music!

Our 175th Celebration Continues!

> This Sunday (5/5) we'll continue our look back at another new period in our church history. We'll cover 1970-89 with a new presentation and new display board by the front door. (*earlier ones in Family Life Center)

>We're planning a float for the De Pere Memorial Day Parade on May 27, and we're looking for LOTS of helpers to represent our church family (pass out candy and church information). Please contact Debbie or Kevin Spiegel if you can help or have questions.

> Every Sunday after worship, please watch for more of our old church photos in the Family Life Center. We need your help to identify dates, events, and individual names for LOTS of unlabelled photos for future scrapbooks.

> We continue to seek more church history treasures to share. We'd love to borrow any old church-related photos, documents, videos, or other special memories you have. We promise to be very careful, make copies, and return them safely.

*Contact Dawn Picard or Mark Young with any ideas, suggestions, or questions about our anniversary activities and plans!

Thanks to Our Volunteers!

Our church family supports a place to live for a family in need as part of the Ecumenical Partnership for Housing. Our location was recently empty, so a group of amazing volunteers cleaned it floor to ceiling, making all the rooms welcoming for the next new family. For more information about the project and our church's support, contact Lynn Huebbe or the church office.

Have You Turned Yours In?

We're still updating the contact information for our church family. If you haven't already, please fill out a form for each of you family members and return them soon. You'll find blank forms at the Welcome Desk at church. You can also click HERE to find an electronic form if you prefer. Help us stay in touch with you.
