Child Care Facility Development Toolkit

On behalf of our partners at the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) and the Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT), CHFA is passing along a new resource from DOLA. The Child Care Facility Development Toolkit is now available on the DOLA website. This resource is intended to improve the ability of local governments, affordable housing developers, child care providers, and community members to increase the supply of child care in the state of Colorado through the construction, renovation, or expansion of facilities.

The toolkit may be useful for Proposition 123 funding applicants given the current strategic policy priority for the inclusion of home-based child care units or commercial child care facilities across Affordable Housing Financing Fund programs. The toolkit includes an introductory video series designed for local governments and community leaders interested in supporting and optimizing child care facility development in their communities, as well as details on upcoming technical assistance and planning grant opportunities.

Please visit the DOLA website to explore this resource and to learn more
