The New Kent Chamber mission is to support and promote member businesses and attract new business to New Kent County. The Chamber advocates directly with state and county officials for member businesses. Our goal is to foster growth and positive change in New Kent County and provide growing business community.

2024 VA Chamber Day at the Capitol

On Wednesday, January 17th, the New Kent Chamber joined 38 other VA Chambers across Virginia for the VA Chamber Day at the Capitol. Three hundred business leaders across the state received remarks from the General Assembly leadership. After a morning of networking with other Chamber leaders, Barry DuVal, President and CEO of the Virginia Chamber, addressed the attendees with a warm welcome before introducing Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Dears. The program continued with additional remarks from House Majority Leader Don Scott, minority leader Todd Gilbert, Senate Majority Leader Scott Surovell, & minority Leader Ryan McDougle.


Governor Glenn Youngkin was the luncheon keynote speaker. He gave an overview of current legislation that is particularly relevant to the business community, including ways to maintain Virginia's business-friendly environment, develop the workforce, provide affordable childcare, and uphold our right-to-work statute. Additionally, Governor Youngkin shared his insights regarding the WiseChoice Initiative. If you wish to learn more about WiseChoice, click the button below for more information.

Dianne Pillsbury is the Senior Mortgage Loan Officer for Chesapeake Bank, and her office is in the Chesapeake Bank Financial Center in Williamsburg. Dianne is the manager of the mortgage loan officers for Chesapeake Ban and works with them to continue building a strong mortgage team.

 

“I enjoy working with mortgage officers to help them find solutions for their borrowers to accomplish the dream of homeownership!”

 

Courtney Carlton is a Mortgage Loan Officer in the Williamsburg Region based out of our Five Forks Branch. Courtney started with Chesapeake Bank in 2019 as a Portfolio Manager in our Gloucester Commercial Lending Office, assisting mainly with residential lending.

 

“I love working for Chesapeake Bank and look forward to helping our customers with their residential needs!”

 

Fontaine Kamara is a Lending Specialist in the Williamsburg region based out of our Lafayette Lending Center. She has worked in residential home sales and mortgage lending in the Williamsburg/Hampton Roads for the past eight years.

 

Fontaine’s role as a Lending specialist gives her the flexibility to work with both residential mortgage loan customers and to provide lending services to small business owners, both current and prospective.

 

“I am excited to be a member of the lending team at Chesapeake Bank. I love being able to build relationships with my clients and to assist them with their borrowing needs.”

 

Chesapeake Bank does not currently volunteer in New Kent County, but we look forward to available opportunities to work with the New Kent County community. Chesapeake Bank believes in giving back to local communities, which will be the focus of Courtney, Fontaine, and me. 


Meet the Board

Sam Drewry is a Financial Advisor at Edward Jones, working in Williamsburg, VA, and a graduate of Radford University. He continue to serve in the Virginia Army National Guard as an infantryman and is currently a Platoon Sergeant. His military discipline and dedication are used in his role at Edward Jones and his involvement with the New Kent Chamber. He lives with his wife Ashleigh and their five children in West Point, Virginia. Besides his job, Drewry is active in his community, holding positions on several Boards of Directors for local organizations. He has formerly served as Chairman of the New Kent Chamber and currently the President of the West Point Chambers of Commerce and remains active in the Greater Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce. As a Membership Chair for the New Kent Chamber of Commerce, he aims to support local businesses and encourage growth.
