Scouts Trash the Trash Day
May 3rd
Scouts Trash the Trash Day is a global Messengers of Peace initiative where Scouts and their friends or family clean up at least 2.2 pounds of trash on Saturday, May 3rd. Inspired by Troop 1206 in Helena, Montana, this event unites Scouts worldwide in a shared day of service, similar to Jamboree on the Air and Jamboree on the Trail. Beyond environmental impact, it showcases Scouting’s values, raises awareness, and encourages new members to join the movement.

"I learned to put 100 percent into what you're doing.
I learned about setting goals for yourself, knowing where
you want to be and taking small steps toward those goals.
I learned about adversity and how to get past it."

- Kristi Yamaguchi, American competitive figure skater, author, and philanthropist,
who won Olympic gold in women's figure skating on this date in 1992.
