Brown Bag Sermon - May 5

At the 10:30 am service, on May 5 Pastor Vicki will be doing a Brown Bag sermon.

The way this works is that all children and youth are invited to bring something to put in a brown bag at the front of the church.

Pastor Vicki has to use everything in the bag in her sermon.

There are a few rules:

1.    Nothing alive.

2.    Nothing sloppy or messy (put your slime in a jar before putting it in the bag)

3.    Nothing that will injure Pastor Vicki as she picks it up (like knives)

Look around, be creative and bring something for the bag.

The items put in the bag are returned after the sermon.

Youth Group

Sunday, May 5, the youth group will be going to Bridge Park in Dublin. We will be having lunch at the North Market and playing games at Pins.

We need a rough head count for this evet.

Please let Pastor Vicki know (rector@saintmarkscolumbus.org) if you are planning to attend.

Pentecost Picnic

Pentecost is Sunday May 19.

Pentecost is one of the major feasts of the Church. It celebrates the descent of the Holy Spirit on the apostles and the beginning of the spread of the Gospel to the world.

It is the custom to wear flame colors, (red, orange and yellow) on Pentecost.

Following the 10:30 a.m. service, we will have our Pentecost Picnic. The Marksmen will be providing wonderful BBQ.

Sign up to bring sides and help with set-up and clean up.

Plan on joining in the celebration and coming back at 4 p.m. for the Canterbury Choir’s Evensong.

The Canterbury Choir will conclude its season with a service of Choral Evensong for the Day of Pentecost on Sunday May 19 at 4 p.m.
