Graphic Medicine NLM Travelling Poster Exhibit comes to the Library
Graphic Medicine: Ill-Conceived & Well-Drawn!– a travelling banner exhibit produced by the National Library of Medicine and guest-curated by artist, educator, and New York Times bestselling author Ellen Forney (Cornish College of the Arts, WA) – is now on display in the Library through June 8, 2024.
The exhibit and companion website explore an emerging genre of medical literature that combines the art of comics and personal illness narrative. People have told stories
of illness from the perspective of their personal experiences using many mediums. The art of comics, which combines words and pictures, gives approachability and emotional impact not only to these personal stories but also to the clinical data they sometimes include.
Feeling creative? A coloring book with images taken from the rare Hebra’s Atlas of Skin Diseases is available for download or pickup near the exhibit.
The Library recognizes our UTSW nurses' dedication to patient care, nursing research, and evidence-based practice this week and every day. Thank you from the Library staff!
