Spring time hoops at TCS!

Each month, our students work towards rewards related to ROADS (Ready, Open-Minded, Allied, Determined, and Safe). Our goal is to grow community norms that foster success inside and outside the classroom. We encourage families to use these words too. Students cashed in some celebrations the Friday before break, which included lots of water! The current PBIS Celebration items for April, May and June are in mystery envelopes. Students earn, and then they find out.

Hello First Branch!

Hello First Branch,

Welcome back from spring break! We are looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

A few things to celebrate as we head into the last 7 weeks of school.

1) All state testing is completed! Wahoo!

2) We've made significant strides over the break, implementing projects that will enhance our learning environment at both TCS and CPS.

Project 1: Additional security cameras were installed to support school safety upgrades.

Project 2: Promethean interactive classroom display panels at CPS. (TCS had theirs installed over Feb. break). These boards serve as interactive whiteboards with touch-sensitive displays. Promethean boards also function as projectors, connecting to desktop devices or tablets through Bluetooth, Wi-fi, or screen sharing or mirroring.

Project 3: Painting projects at TCS.

Project 4: Reconstruction to the CPS preschool and middle school master schedule to support shorter class blocks for middle school students and access to essential time for all students. The schedule also supports class meetings to allow class trip planning to start happening again. In addition, teachers have more access to additional planning time to support collaboration needs. Finally, electives are weekly on Fridays, and World Language instrumental music remains an opt-in class. Students will be given new schedules on Monday morning in an advisory.

As we return to school, please note that Teacher Appreciation week runs May 6th-May 10th. A kind note from students to a teacher or teachers is a great way to show appreciation. Often, we are asked in the offices how we can say thank you in a small way. You can certainly share a small token of appreciation or connect with our parent/community group, Friends of First Branch, as they have some plans and can use support with these plans. If you would like to help contribute time or resources, please reach out to friendsoffirstbranch@wrvsu.org.

Be Well,

Janet Cash

Principal, First Branch Unified District

May 6th-May 10th is Teacher Appreciation Week!

Lights, Camera, Action!

4th Graders performed "The True Story of Cinderella" for 3rd graders before the April break.
