Principal’s Recommendation–Mrs. Valerie Matyas

Before I was a principal I was a stay at home mom. It was the hardest job I ever did without a paycheck. I first encountered Kevin Leman on the Focus on the Family daily broadcast. You will not regret the time invested in listening to this series. It was a great refresher and reminder. I listened to it over Spring Break while folding clothes.

8th Grade Commitment Day

St. Paul is blessed to have six 8th graders who will be offering their commitment to uphold the Christian values and morals they have learned and experienced during their time at St. Paul for their future in high school. This year, all six 8th graders are planning on attending Valley Lutheran High School. Mr. Al Kaul, Executive Director of Valley Lutheran High School, will join the 5-8th grade, along with the 8th grade parents, as the 8th graders commit to their future high school during a small 2:15 p.m. ceremony on Tuesday, May 14 in the gym of St. Paul.

Parent Teacher Organization

The upcoming May PTO meeting has been rescheduled to Tuesday, April 30 at 6:00 p.m. Please plan on attending this meeting and taking part in the next PTO officer election.

Additionally if you are interested in serving on the PTO board, please reach out to the current board to express interest. There will be two new board members elected.

Pizza and childcare will also be available.

The next PTO Kona Ice fundraiser will be on Friday, May 3, 2024 from 2:30-3:30 p.m. in the school parking lot.

Race for Athletics will take place on Thursday, May 23 at 1:00 p.m. The event will benefit St. Paul Lutheran athletes and the athletic department. Donations will be allocated toward a quality Wildcat mascot. Additional funds will be gifted to the athletic department for improvements such as: uniforms, new gym wall mats with logo, new equipment, updated school and league banners, and a fresh coat of paint for the gym. Thank you in advance for making St. Paul a wonderful place to learn, play, and grow!

Great news, St. Paul Lutheran School has been chosen again for Drydock on June 5, 6, 7, 8. With only a limited amount of spots available, this is a great opportunity for St. Paul.

Drydock is an outdoor shipping-container-turned-bar, seasonal beer garden, in downtown Bay City at Unity Park. A partnership between two Bay City businesses, this venue provides participating nonprofits with a new and exciting way to fundraise. Beer, wine, and other drinks will be available for purchase. Sales from this event will support our St. Paul Parent Teacher Organization.

The PTO is looking for business donations to help offset the upfront costs for this event. Your business will be advertised online, in newsletters and displayed during the 4 day event. Please contact Cassie Hechlik (989) 213-3461, hechlikc@gmail.com. The PTO will also be looking for volunteers to be at the event, look for the SignUpGenius next month.

8th Grade Graduation

Save the Date and mark your calendar for Sunday, June 9, 2024. St. Paul will recognize the 8th grade graduates during the 8:00 am service, and will celebrate their achievement with a cake and card reception in the Welcome Center following the service.
