The end of February brings a bittersweet moment to our team. We're bidding adieu to Lilah Krugman, who has been a bright spark in ACORN's eye since she first interned with us a UVM junior in early 2022, helping to update the Food and Farm Guide directory. Three years later, Lilah has been an integral part of scaling up our Farmacy program, building out the Food Hub, organizing working bees, writing grants, and too many other things to list! If you've interacted with an ACORN program in the last three years, there's no doubt you've met Lilah. We look forward to hearing about Lilah's learnings as she dives deeper into building community and soil on an organic veg and flower farm in Maine.
At the same time, we are super excited to welcome Alyssa Greaney, who is fearlessly stepping into Lilah's Blundstones (or are they Red Backs?). Alyssa is passionate about bringing delicious, healthful, and culturally appropriate food to both Addison County and the whole of Vermont, recognizing that food is not just nourishment, but a powerful tool for stewarding community. Alyssa’s interest in equitable food systems came from first attending UVM for Nutrition and Food Science, and has grown further since working with food retailers, specialty food producers, and policy advocates in her previous role. When she’s not working with ACORN, Alyssa enjoys hiking, biking, reading, and cooking with her partner and their cat, Jax!
We hope you'll join us in sayings goodbye to Lilah and hello to Alyssa!
