Runaway

Runaway

How many times do we have situations in our life that we don’t want to face and try our best to run from them instead of tackling them head on.  I often am a procrastinator, just putting off something that I know needs to be done but clearly that something is not on the top of my happy to conform list.

There are situations that are dropped in our laps that put us in unknown territory , there are hardships that seem to have hurdle after hurdle that trip us up, there are barriers that keep us from accomplishing our personal goals, and there are even distractions that are seemingly unimportant but they somehow have made their way to the front door of our minds, and cause us to retreat from what is the real deal that needs attention.

We are so often the ones who make life difficult. We are constantly aiming to ‘do it myself’, ‘my way’, and ‘in my timing’…. leaving little room for God to be our guide.

Each day I think God is continuing to remind me that “this is the day that HE has made…let me rejoice and be glad in it”.  My husband and I have gotten in the habit of one of us starting that verse and the other finishing it.  It sounds kind of corny but truth be told that one little expression kinda puts whatever happens this day back on God and I am left just to trust him to guide me though it.

Life seems to be a little simpler when I do find myself talking to God instead of myself. For he knows the way of the day, and the way to best get through the day knowing he has a basket of joy sprinkled along the road if we only take time to look for his treasures and count his blessings.

So when you find yourself in a runaway position…just stop a minute and ask God to come along side you.  So many of our worries and concerns can be softened and sometimes even dissolved when we invite Christ to be an active part of whatever it is that has come our way… I have experienced this time and time again….and you too, will find a quiet peace and comfort just believing and trusting that God has “Got This”… because he does. He is faithful and loving and present all the times and instead of running away … run towards God!  He is on call and waiting…just for you!!!

Matthew 11: 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Hebrews 4:16,  Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Praise God wherever you are and whatever situation He has allowed you to be in . . . His glory will shine through!
