MESSAGE FROM JIMMY
I hope you are having an amazing week so far. Here are three things that I am grateful for this week…
1. “And the Lord added to their number daily…” (Acts 2:47). My heart is full today as I write for there are signs all around us of God’s abundant grace. It seems for the past few weeks we have seen people taking new steps in their faith journey. We baptized Levi and Preston this past Sunday. There will be one baptism this coming Sunday along with several confirmands taking their next steps by making professions of faith. We have a couple of families uniting in membership with our church in the coming weeks. Finally, we will have more folks getting baptized and reaffirming their baptisms on May 5th. May the Lord be glorified through each life that surrenders to Jesus and follows him in discipleship.
2. It takes a village. You’ve probably heard that statement before, right? It take a village to raise a child. This is most evident in our church’s confirmation journey. For the past several months, our children’s ministry staff, pastors, mentors, and parents have been guiding our students as they explore their faith. I am grateful for this “village” of servant leaders who have helped lead our students each week. Thank you! This Sunday they will have the opportunity to make professions of faith in Christ and respond to the grace of God that has been leading them. My prayer is this will be a moment forever marked in their memory. I can’t wait to see how they continue to grow in their faith and respond to the call of Christ on their life.
3. This song… “Left It In the Water” by We The Kingdom. With all the people getting wet with baptism, here is a good tune to dial up on Spotify or Apple Music. Or you could just click this link and watch the video on YouTube. This is four minutes of good jams!
