This Weekend & The Week Ahead

Outdoor Parish Work Day

Tomorrow, Saturday, June 1

8:00 - 12:00 AM

Looks like the sun will be shining on our parish work day tomorrow! We've got a fabulous crew signed up, but we can always use more hands to further lighten the load. So if you're available, sign up or just show up to help prepare our grounds for all of our outdoor events this summer!

This Sunday Morning

Welcome Rev. Frank Allen!

The Reverend Frank Allen, our Priest in Residence for the next two months, arrives in Colorado Springs this weekend, and he's jumping right in. He'll be preaching this Sunday at both services, and then NEXT Sunday from 9:15 - 10:10 AM, Rev. Vicki will host an informal Meet & Greet with him in the sanctuary. Join live or online.

Also This Sunday....

  • Summer Faith Bags

We still have plenty of faith-filled items on the table in the Gathering Space to help you on your spiritual journey this summer. Take a minute to build your bag this Sunday.

  • Summer Choir, 10:30 AM Service

Summer could be the perfect time to try out being in the choir! All are welcome to help lead hymns and sing an easy offertory anthem during the 10:30 AM summer services. No need to make a weekly commitment - come when you can! Simply meet in the Choir Room at 10:00 AM for a brief rehearsal. Contact Amalia at amalia@stmikeschurch.com with any questions.

  • LEVAS Hymnals Available

Hopefully you read in the Archangel that during this season of Pentecost, we will be enjoying hymns from the four other hymnals used within the Episcopal Church. Through June 30, we will be using Lift Every Voice and Sing (LEVAS) which focuses on African-American spirituals and gospel music. We have secured some hymnals on loan that you can find on the table by the bulletins at the entrance to the sanctuary. Pick one up and share with a neighbor to enhance your worship experience!

  • Directory Photos After Both Services

Many thanks to those of you who have sent photos or had your photos taken recently for the updated parish directory. We still have many people without photos, so if you think that may be you, please find Linda Kean or Ama Couch in the Parish Hall this Sunday after either service to snap your picture. This is the final Sunday we will be taking pictures before printing out new directories. You may also email a picture of your choice (landscape preferred) to Linda at linda@stmikeschurch.com and/or contact her with any questions.

  • Second VBS Build Day, 12:00 - 2:00 PM

Significant progress was made last weekend beginning to transform the Multipurpose Room into a Vacation Bible School wonderland! This work will continue on Sunday after church, and we could definitely use more people. So please join if you can.....or come help on June 15 or 23.

Adopt-a-Trail Cleanup

Choose Your Date

Over the winter, did you promise yourself once the weather improved, you would get outside and be more active? Well, the Creation Care ministry has a deal for you! About a year ago, St. Michael's adopted a portion of the Santa Fe Trail from the Edmondson Trailhead (about a half-mile from the church) north two miles to Ice Lake. We'd love to get some new people involved in keeping this trail clean as it's an easy way to get exercise and help the environment at the same time. The best part is you can choose your own days and times to help, and you are not required to participate each month! Click below to learn more and to access the release forms. Contact Rod Sato at v.rodbs@gmail.com with any questions.
