Well-Being Index Available as Member Wellness Tool

On behalf of the Council on Dental Practice, we are pleased to share the Well-Being Index, an anonymous validated assessment, resource and measurement tool developed by the Mayo Clinic to address clinician distress and well-being, is now available at no cost for every ADA member, including students.

To access the tool, visit https://mywbi.org/ada-wellness to set-up an account and take the assessment. The assessment takes one minute to answer nine questions to evaluate an individual’s risk of fatigue, depression, burnout or anxiety. The tool, which is used by hundreds of health care organizations, has been customized for the ADA to provide participants with ADA resources once the assessment is taken.

Will You Be a Part of the Norton Children’s Prevention & Wellness Dental Referral Program?

Norton Children’s Prevention & Wellness has focused on the promotion of preventive oral health for children in Greater Louisville since 2018.

In 2019, more than 1,500 dental referrals were sent from Norton Children’s primary care offices to dentists through an online platform. Due to lack of funding, the online platform was discontinued in early 2020. Norton Healthcare now is under contract with Unite Us, an online social needs referral platform that allows direct referrals between providers. Our goal is to revive our past dental referral programming success through the new Unite Us platform. If you are a dental office interested in joining the Unite Us platform, click here. Need Insurance?

Starting May 7, 2025, standard driver licenses will no longer be accepted for these 3 purposes: 1.) clearing airport security checkpoints to board commercial, domestic flights; 2.) entry into military bases; and 3.) entry to federal buildings that require identification.

If you prefer the convenience of using a driver’s license or ID card for these purposes, you will want a Kentucky REAL ID card version. If your driver’s license has a star icon in the top right, it is REAL ID compliant. Other forms of federal identification, like a valid United States Passport or Department of Defense-issued ID, are acceptable forms of REAL ID. Learn more at realidky.com and take our IDocument Guide quiz for a personalized list of required documents you will need to bring in person to any Driver Licensing Regional Office to apply for a REAL ID license or ID card. If you are not due to renew your license but want a REAL ID driver license or ID card once enforcement begins May 7, 2025, you may “upgrade” to a REAL ID card version any time for $15. Visit drive.ky.gov to schedule an appointment at any Driver Licensing Regional Office or Popup driver licensing event. A list of Driver Licensing Regional Offices may be found at drive.ky.gov

You Need a Security Risk Assessment!

One of the most important aspects of HIPAA is your security risk assessment. Without one, your practice is vulnerable.

Why you need a risk assessment:

●    Identify data security deficiencies

●    Prevent breaches and fines

●    Qualify for MIPS credit

Compliancy Group offers a total HIPAA solution that allows practices to conduct security risk assessments, train employees, adopt policies and procedures, and much more.
