It was an honor and a great experience to be the voting representatives from St. Armands Key Lutheran Church. Along with the business of electing new members of Synod Council and representatives to the next churchwide Assembly in 2025, we attended workshops on Global Refuge, World Hunger, Creating a Philanthropic Culture, and Innovation in the Church.
The most joyous moment came when the Assembly voted to receive The Community Church (TCC) of Babcock Ranch as a congregation of the ELCA and a member of the Florida-Bahamas Synod. SAKLC Foundation has been a supporter of TCC as a mission congregation. This vibrant congregation is doing wonderful things in the Babcock Ranch area!

FOUNDATION NEWS !
SAKLC Foundation awarded a $10,000 grant to Luther Springs , (formerly Lutheridge & Lutherock Ministries), of NovusWay Ministries in Hawthorne, Florida. They currently host over 300 summer campers onsite and provide Day Camps to 19 congregation across the Synod, serving over 500 children. This grant will provide scholarships for families that are unable to afford the experience for their children.

CSM Resurrection House Cooking
Volunteers Needed
With a lot of our volunteers gone for the season we are in need of help with Resurrection House Cooking on Thursday, June 27, July 25 & August 22 at 9:00am. If you are available then please consider helping out for a great cause. We would also like to thank those that helped in May. We were delighted to see new faces and really appreciated the extra hands! Contact the church office with any questions.

Alternative Worship Task Force Update
"Let's Have a Conversation" Sessions Start Next Week

 |  | As we have been discussing for the past few weeks, The Alternative Worship Task Force is eager to hear from our SAKLC family about your thoughts and preferences for a different type of worship service aside from our Sunday services. The first one-hour Conversation is scheduled for next Tuesday, June 18, at 11:00 am via Zoom. There are a few openings left, so sign up now to participate in this valuable discussion. We will pose several questions relating to alternative worship options for SAKLC. What time of day works well? What day of the week is preferable? What worship features do you value and enjoy that should be a part of a different worship service? This is your opportunity to voice your preferences. A Task Force member will be in the Narthex before and after the Sunday service to help you sign up. You may also click on the link below or scan the QR code in your bulletin insert to register online. We encourage you to participate in one of these Conversations and have your voice heard. Pastor Ken's Weekly Bible Study
Join us this Summer

Join Pr. Ken each weekly as he leads Bible study! These sessions take place on Wednesday mornings from 11:00am-noon both in-person and on zoom.
The class discusses the Scripture texts assigned for the forthcoming Sunday worship services. Each week there is a good mix of lay people and retired pastors, with each group bringing their unique perspectives on life and Scripture – it’s a fun group!
Pr. Ken shares a calendar month of handouts in advance so that participants can look ahead and read the comments of Lutheran scholars prior to each session. Please click the button below to have materials sent to you.

CSM Thanks You!
SAKLC received a heartfelt thank you from 'School House Link” in appreciation for the donation of gift cards & cookies that were recently presented to their 30 graduates. They appreciate our congregation for always thinking and remembering the homeless youth who struggle each day to stay in school to graduate! They realize that the first step to their own independence is to be able to support themselves and having that high school diploma is one more step up the ladder towards their brighter future ahead!
