Greetings Rondout Families, Friends, and Faculty...

Spring Break has officially begun and we send our best wishes to all our families and staff for a fabulous week away from school. Mark you calendars for the upcoming Green Space Activity on the Wednesday we return from break on April 2, 2025. Check out the details below.

🌱 Green Space Activity: Mini Greenhouses & Seed Sharing Event! 🌱

Join us at Rondout School on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. for an exciting Green Space Activity to kick off the spring season!

🌸 What’s Happening That Evening:

  • Build your own mini greenhouse to take home.
  • Participate in a seed-sharing activity—pick up seed packets and get ready for spring planting.
  • Explore the Rondout Garden and learn more about the inspiring work being done through the Rondout Green Spaces initiative.

🧤 Plan to bring your garden gloves for planting your greenhouse. We’ll also have gloves available to borrow if needed.

🪴 All materials will be provided, so just bring your enthusiasm and curiosity about gardening!

We look forward to seeing you there as we cultivate growth and community. Let’s get ready for a season full of green! 🌿

Take care... Until next time.

See you back at Rondout on Monday March 31, 2025.

Illinois 5Essentials Parent Survey

Dear Parents,

You have been invited to complete the Illinois 5Essentials Parent Survey. The information you provide will help guide improvement as we strive to inspire each student to realize their potential through the education and opportunities we provide at Rondout. Your participation in this survey is voluntary but crucial. We can’t receive results from the survey unless at least 20 percent of parents respond. The more responses parents provide, the more we will know how to focus our efforts towards improvements.

  • Go to: http://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/survey/parent/ to take the survey.
  • Select “Parent Survey.”
  • You may enter your email address if you would like to receive confirmation of your submission, but it is not required.
  • Then enter “Lake” into the county field and “Rondout” to find our school.

Click here to complete the ISBE 5 Essentials Survey For Parents/Guardians

You will then be asked a series of questions to provide input regarding your family’s experience here at Rondout. Please remember to click “submit” once you are done so your responses can be counted.

Please know that your identity and responses will be kept confidential and will not be connected with your child. If you have multiple children who attend Rondout, you may complete one survey for each child. However, only one parent per household may submit a survey for a given child. The survey closes on March 28, 2025, so please submit your responses soon!

Students in grades 4-8 will also be taking the 5Essentials survey in school over the next two weeks. While their responses are anonymous, they do login with their student state ID number and birthdate. Student example questions are available online, and if you have questions or concerns about your students’ participation in the survey, please reach out to administration. Parents do have the ability to remove their child from participating in the survey process.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth Davis
