"A cow in an earthquake

is called a milkshake!"

-Readers Digest

With temperatures hitting the 80s and 90s over the next ten days, we can finally welcome summer and all the fun to our calendars. For those that may not know, June ushers in Dairy Month! What better way to honor the season than with a Wisconsin Dairy Breakfast. "June Dairy Month is a longstanding tradition in Wisconsin. A Wisconsin dairy breakfast or related event is a great way for those of all ages to enjoy time with their family, meet local farmers, experience delicious food and learn about Wisconsin agriculture." [Cassie Sonnentag, Gather Wisconsin]

This year the tradition stands and the Walworth County Farm Bureau will host their 47th Annual Dairy Breakfast on the Davis Farm in Sharon, WI this coming Saturday - June 15th from 6am - 10:30am. If you haven't stopped by to grab your tickets, you can still show up and buy them at the door!

Here are my top ten suggestions on how to add a little more dairy to your celebration this month!

  1. Say, "YES" to whip cream on your frappe, latte or smoothie! In fact, order extra whip!
  2. Stop by the local ice cream shop and enjoy the double scoop option of your favorite flavor.
  3. Add extra cheese to your favorite pizza when ordering out dinner this month!
  4. If they say 'buttermilk' you better believe eating a tall stack is in honor of the dairy cow!
  5. Walk on the wild side and give those TikTok famous 'butter boards' a try!
  6. Find two pieces of bread, a pat of butter & cheese. You're grilling a dairy month sandwich!
  7. All burgers must be CHEESE Burgers!
  8. Just say "NO" to almond, oat, coconut and soy! (allergies not included)
  9. Give yourself an "A" for every plate of alfredo you eat this month!
  10. Last but not least thank a farmer. The hard working families and staff that work each and everyday to care for, milk and safely process Wisconsin's white gold deserve our appreciation for their efforts and commitment to the Ag Industry.

We live in Wisconsin. Practically every month is Dairy Month! I still hope you find countless ways to stay cool and enjoy the ag-inspired celebration by visiting our local shops and restaurants this month and all summer long! And be sure to head south for an amazing morning at the 47th Annual Dairy Breakfast this Saturday starting at 6am.
