Octane Passes Million Dollar Mark with Razorback Score

Florida-bred Octane and jockey Julien Leparoux went head and head with Notary at the top of the stretch before racing clear in the final furlong to win the Grade 3 Razorback Handicap by three-quarters of a length at Oaklawn Park Saturday, becoming the most recent Florida-bred millionaire. It was the fifth career stakes victory, but first against open company, for the 5-year-old Arindel homebred who defeated nine other 4-year-olds and older going a mile-and-a-sixteenth in the $600,000 event.

Sweet Dani Girl Stays Hot For New Connections With Gulfstream Optional Claiming Victory

Florida-bred Sweet Dani Girl remained undefeated in two starts since joining the barn of trainer Christophe Clement after winning an upper-level, $62,500 optional claiming allowance at Gulfstream Park Saturday. After defending her title in the $89,000 Sunshine Filly and Mare Turf at a mile at Gulfstream on Jan. 14, Sweet Dani Girl continued her winning ways at a mile-and-a-sixteenth on the grass against six other fillies and mares, 4-years-old and older, with jockey Leonel Reyes.
