Quarterly Newsletter January to March 2025

Message from our CEO

Greetings,

As this edition of our newsletter reaches you, we find ourselves in the midst of the season of Lent, and entering into the official start of Spring. Both the religious season of Lent and the calendar season of Spring provide an opportunity to focus on acts of giving, transformation, renewal and growth.

At Catholic Charities, we have seen firsthand how our community comes together in seasons of renewal—sharing generosity extended in support of those persons we serve, or through volunteering time to help further the efforts of our agency.

Every small act of compassion extended to your neighbor—those you know and those you’ve yet to meet—is evidence of the promise that awaits us at the end of our Lenten journey, and reflects the light and warmth that comes as the dark days of winter fall behind us.

Undoubtedly as this year begins to unfold, there may be a sense of uncertainty—uncertainty tied to the programs we provide, the funding we receive, and the opportunities and challenges facing the persons we serve. We remain confident and committed to our mission, in service to the most poor and vulnerable in our community. And we invite you to consider ways in which you can join us in commitment to serving those in need.

Remember, every opportunity for change invites us to become better versions of ourselves—individually and collectively.

May this season of Lent and of Spring bring you renewal, joy and peace!

Ellen T. Wayne, Ed.D.
