As we wind down Teacher Appreciation Week, it’s important to note it wouldn’t have happened without the VCHS Parent Association (PA). And that would be true for so many other experiences we have had this school year like tailgates and fellowship dinners, just to name a few. They also raised a lot of money supporting athletics, arts, clubs, and teachers further enhancing the VCHS experience for all of our students.
It’s also important to note that it wouldn’t happen without leadership and the volunteerism spirit. I want to give a HUGE shoutout to Atlanta Meynier (Jeep ’24) and Katie Rothenberg (Leo ’22, Maggie ’24) for their three years of faithful service as Parent Association Co-Chairs. Their greatest gifts to VCHS have been their time and talent which resulted in treasures for VCHS. Thank you Atlanta and Katie!
The baton exchange to our new PA Co-Chairs has already taken place. I’m excited to announce that Sherri Brumm (Alex ’27) and Heidi Havenstrite (Tanner ’28) will now Co-Chair the Parent Association and are excited to roll up their sleeves in preserving VCHS traditions and shaping new ones. Thank you Sherri and Heidi for saying ‘yes’.
As a refresher about PA’s purpose, I lifted this from their website.
The Vail Christian High School Parent Association is an independent group of volunteer parents whose mission is to enhance the experiences, traditions and excellence of students, faculty, sports, arts and clubs. We do this by:
- Strengthening the Saints Community by Hosting Social & Recognition Events
- Fostering Longstanding School Traditions and Creating New Ones
- Supporting Faculty in their Pursuit of Excellence in Teaching and Mentoring Students
- Boosting the Clubs, Athletics, Theater and Arts Experience for our Students
Stay tuned for ways in which you can support the VCHS Parent Association next school year. If you’re wanting to plug in to the VCHS community, make friends, and serve, there are plenty of opportunities. Like Atlanta and Katie and now Sherri and Heidi, it begins by saying ‘yes’.
Let’s Go Saints!
