In honor of the centenary of the birth of György Ligeti, one of the most famous contemporary European composers, his son Lukas Ligeti composed his 4th string quartet, “Neostasis”, which he dedicated to the Aris Quartet. The world premiere took place in Stuttgart, Germany, in 2023, and the composition is receiving its U.S. premiere at Kohl Mansion this Sunday, March 16, 2025. The program also includes works by Felix Mendelssohn, Erwin Schulhoff, and Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel.
Come early for a masterclass with Young Chamber Musicians at 5 pm and pre-concert talk by Christopher Costanza at 6 pm. Stay after the concert for a complimentary glass of wine with the musicians.
