The Bargain Boutique will be closing June 1st for summer vacation and will reopen after Labor Day in September. But, before we go we want you to know how much we appreciate your support with an unending supply of donations.

As Pastor Mike said last week, we all are not volunteers as we are called to be servants to the Most High God. That is what we do and we thank you in supporting us.

While we are gone, Jesus Loves You, Meals on Wheels and the Salvation Army are options for you. Until we see you again have a Joyous and Blessed Summer.

A Word from Worship

Greetings New Life Church family and friends,

Well - I wasn't sure I could even write anything this week- but I need to share our thanks and our gratitude for your faithful prayers. So I will try to share an update on where we are at.

As you know, both Don and I have been battling Influenza A for the past weeks. This wiped us both out with fatigue, weakness, cough, etc. Don just couldn't seem to shake the fatigue and low energy.  This past Saturday morning, he said he felt "great" and we drove to do a couple of errands. When we got to the store and we were walking through the parking lot, Don had new symptoms of poor balance so we returned to the car. I called our son, Chris who came and we went to the ER.  The news we've received after numerous scans and other tests has been heartbreaking, overwhelming, and more than a little shocking. But through it all, we've had numerous God moments and have been surrounded by love. They discovered masses on Don's colon, liver, and spleen as well as kidney and bladder stones. We are grateful for God's great love, as Don has had no pain or symptoms of any kind. So after several physicians with differing opinions and recommendations we are going to get him home today  (Wednesday) and will begin treatment and/or decide on options with my oncologist, Dr.Vance Wright-Browne as an outpatient. We still don't have any pathology results but doctors are pretty sure that this is cancer. So my fervent prayer is that we receive some type of miracle along this journey. Don is very strong and has a wonderful attitude about attacking this situation. We are so thankful for the love you all have showered on both of us. I have heard of prayer vigils going on around the country for him and I humbly ask for prayers to continue for Don's healing, peace, and comfort as we make difficult decisions on this journey. Please also pray that I can stay healthy and strong to be able to help him through these challenges. Our God is an awesome God and Don has continued to share his faith even while receiving the most difficult news. Thank you for lifting us up with your kindness and offers to help. We both pray for each of you and ask that you reach out to others who are going through challenges with prayer and love.

I'm happy to tell you that my beloved Don is once again home with me!! Another gift from our Heavenly Father. We are blessed.

I'm praying for you!

Greetings from the Music Ministry

Hello New Life Church!

This weekend we will be observing Memorial day. It stands as a solemn tribute, a day of remembrance, and a symbol of gratitude. Its importance lies in its profound recognition of the sacrifices made by those who served in the armed forces, and particularly those who gave their lives in defense of our nation. Here are a few points to think about.

  1. Honoring Sacrifice: Memorial Day is a time to honor the ultimate sacrifice made by people throughout history. It's a day to reflect on the bravery and selflessness of those who gave their lives to protect the freedoms and values.
  2. Remembering History: Memorial Day serves as a reminder of the profound impact of war on societies and individuals. By remembering the past, we gain a deeper understanding of the consequences of conflict and the importance of striving for peace.
  3. Fostering Unity: Memorial Day has the power to unite communities and the nation as a whole. It transcends political and ideological differences, bringing people together to express gratitude for the sacrifices made in service to the country.
  4. Supporting Veterans: Memorial Day also provides an opportunity to show support for veterans and their families. While the day primarily honors those who have passed away, it also acknowledges the service and sacrifice of living veterans, reminding them that their contributions are valued and appreciated.
  5. Preserving Memory: As time passes, the memory of past conflicts can fade. Memorial Day serves as a vital means of preserving the memory of those who served and ensuring that their legacy continues to inspire future generations.
  6. Renewing Commitment: Memorial Day prompts us to renew our commitment to the values for which those who have fallen fought and died. It's a call to action to uphold the principles of freedom, democracy, and justice, and to strive for a world where such sacrifices are no longer necessary.

Memorial Day is not just another holiday or long weekend; it's a poignant reminder of the cost of freedom and the debt of gratitude owed to those who paid it. It's a day to pause, reflect, and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country.

Have you ever thought about each Sunday being our Christian Memorial Day? Every Sunday we meet together to honor the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus. We learn the Word of God and focus on the history of our faith and its foundations. Sunday is a day to come together and strive for unity. Sundays also edify the saints and build up the body of Christ. We come to church to support one another and to find ways to love one another. Sunday, especially communion Sunday, helps Christians preserve the memories of Christ’s Death, Burial and Resurrection. And Finally, Sundays help us to renew our commitment to the Lord Jesus each week and uphold the Gospel.

This week our Anthem will focus on asking God to Heal our Land and bring us back to standing on His Word. It is a way of observing memorial day and praying for our country to once again turn from their wicked ways and honor God.

Anthem Lyrics – Heal Our Land

Words & Music by R. Kevin Boesiger

Heal our Land

May in God we trust again

Heal our Land

According to your plan

Heal our land

Bring us back where we began

To know God’s heart

And on His Word we stand

Heal our Land

Pray for peace

We pray for wisdom

In a time when peace is hard to find

We pray for hope

We pray for guidance

May each step bring us closer to You

His Truth is marching on

Glory Hallelujah

His Truth is marching on

Glory Hallelujah

Heal our Land

May in God we trust again

Heal our land

According to Your plan

Heal our land

Bring us back where we began

To know God’s heart

And on His Word we stand

Heal our Land

I would love to invite anyone who would be interested in helping with the music ministry this summer to reach out to me. We would love to have solos and instrumentalists and even more choir participants, even if you are normally not in the choir all year. E-mail me if you are interested.

Also, If you love to sing, please consider joining the Chancel Choir. We meet on Thursday evenings from 7-9 PM. We sing most Sunday mornings during the 9:15 service and are very flexible with travel plans and needing to be away at times. We have a wide variety of musicians with various backgrounds and there is a place for you! Please consider coming to a rehearsal to see if you would like to join us in this very fulfilling ministry.

At New Life Church, everyone in the music ministry is a worship leader. Our aim is to…
