We are down to the last month of the spring season. Practices will go up to the week of May 20th (6 practices remaining) and the conclusion of the season will be Memorial Day weekend. MOST teams will not be playing Memorial Day weekend, but some teams will have to squeeze in one more tournament.

We had many more successes this past week with both 4th-grade boys' teams, and 5th boys burgundy getting the job done. On the girls side, 4th burgundy, 5th white, 6th white, 7th burgundy, and 8th burgundy, all taking home medals! Nice job, EDGE!

We have lots of exciting news, our SUMMER CAMPS ARE UP AND RUNNING for both June and July (see below). For the second year in a row, the 8th-grade girls are headed back to USJN. Sophia Calhoun and Maeve Hickey were chosen All-Stars by opposing coaches as the 8th-grade girls competed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin last weekend.

2024 Summer Camps - REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

Registration for 2024 June Summer Skills Camps is open to anyone interested in developing their basketball skills (new and returning OTE players), 2nd - 8th grade, boys and girls. Weekly camps will emphasize:

• Ball handling
• Form shooting, proper footwork
• Passing and cutting
• Defensive skills, rebounding 

These skills are the fundamentals of basketball that we teach and set OTE apart from other travel programs. These camps are an excellent building block for our July summer camps and our fall/winter tryouts in September. The camps will also focus on a 5-out offense, man-to-man defensive principles, and team scrimmaging.



Registration is limited to 40 players per group, per session. 

Gym Location: NEIU - 3600 W. Foster Ave. Chicago

Grade level is for the upcoming school year (ie… if your child just finished 3rd grade, please register them as 4th graders). All participants will receive an OTE camp shirt and water bottle.

8th GRADE GIRLS - HEADED BACK TO NATIONALS!

For the second year in a row, the 8th-grade girls are headed back to USJN to compete against some of the country's best! Led by Coaches Croix, Justin, Marissa, and Keith the girls had another remarkable showing this past weekend at Southland Center, Ho-Chunk Nation. They went a perfect 3-0 on Saturday to get them into the championship on Sunday, where they closed out their journey on the way to NATIONALS! Once again, Sophia Calhoun was named an All-Star nominated by the opposing coaches! Great job, Sophia, and great job, Ladies! The job is not done yet! Next stop, Milwaukee, Wisconsin!

8th Grade girls - DOMINATE AT STATE!

The 8th-grade girls continued on their roll this past weekend by going a perfect 5-0 at the University of Illinois. Led by Coach Croix and Coach Keith, they put on a fantastic performance and took home rings and medals for winning! Congratulations Ladies! Keep up the amazing work!

4th Grade boys take 2nd place in state!

The 4th-grade boys also competed at state this past weekend and they did amazing in their first big tournament! They went 3-0 Saturday which got them into the championship game Sunday, where they fell to a very talented team from Park Forest. It was a hard-fought battle and the boys played their hearts out! Great job, boys! We will see them next year! Same place, same time!
