The foundation of our energy is mindfulness and compassion.
In this special class designed by Stanford neuroscientists, psychologists, and contemplative scholars under the direction of Thupten Jinpa at the Stanford Medical School Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education, created in part by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, we will do all the most important meditation practices and learn the science behind each of them.
The result is a compassionate and resilient attitude to the challenges of everyday life, as well as a life of more connection, meaning, and depth.
Research conducted on this course shows that it increases happiness and overall positive emotions, reduces stress and anxiety, enhances feelings of connection, decreases worry, and leads to a more caring, compassionate attitude toward oneself and others.
Included in this 4-week program are four class recordings, meditations for each day of the week, a weekly supplementary reading or lecture on the science of compassion by a renowned psychology or neuroscience researcher, and support in starting and maintaining regular meditation practice.
