Every Mind Matters Newsletter

February 2024

Hello Psychology,

February marks Psychology Month and we are proud of our 50-year history with the psychological community in Canada. In 1974, a group of leading Canadian psychologists united to form the Ontario Psychological Foundation. What started out as a way for psychologists to raise funds, donate and recognize each other, has evolved into this national organization with a mission to build strong foundations of mental wellness with the use of psychological science.

Our Psychologists had the foresight and vision on the importance of mental health promotion by empowering our children to build resilience, develop coping mechanisms, and ultimately thrive in the face of life’s uncertainties. This approach and these coping skills are needed now more than ever.

In this issue, we acknowledge and honour the many leading Canadian psychologists who support our organization, and we are featuring a new psychology-based resource to help teens manage their stress. Happy Psychology Month!
