UPCOMING EVENT!
La Fiesta Ribbon Cutting
Wednesday, February 21st
4:30-5:30pm
La Fiesta Mexican Restaurant
9513 NW 39th Avenue
Gainesville, FL 32606
Join us as we celebrate the re-opening of La Fiesta Mexican Restaurant!
La Fiesta has been a Gainesville favorite since Jesse and Guadalupe Castro opened their doors in 1989.
In December 2023, much to the dismay of Greater Gainesville, they announced they would be closing their doors for good. Less than a month later, their children, David and Amanda Castro, found support from a family member and announced that La Fiesta would live on! David and Amanda are excited to offer a fresh and invigorating atmosphere that reflects the vibrant spirit of Gainesville, creating a space where patrons can savor not just delicious cuisine, but an immersive dining experience. While much of the La Fiesta that everyone knows and loves will remain, this new generation is ready to offer a new La Fiesta!
Join us for drinks, tastings, music, mingling, and more! The ribbon cutting ceremony will commence at 5pm and be immediately followed by the Latin Business Chapter Meeting. We invite you to stick around to enjoy both events!

The Greater Gainesville Chamber Foundation and Alachua County Public Schools invite students, families, and friends to celebrate graduating seniors' academic achievement on Florida College Decision Day. Florida College Decision Day is inspired by the NCAA's National Signing Day, which celebrates students who have received athletic scholarships.
We believe all students' academic achievements should be celebrated. That's why we launched Florida College Decision Day to celebrate students' plans for life after high school.
Florida College Decision Day recognizes all students for their postsecondary plans, whether they are planning on attending 4-year college, 2-year college, technical school, or the military. Last year, Newberry, Buchholz, and Eastside High School principals introduced their students.
Florida College Decision Day celebrates Florida high school graduates' achievements as they matriculate to any state college, university, or the military anywhere in the world.
