GVCO Caring Hands is starting its 2nd decade of Community Service!


Thank you for offering to be part of GVCO Caring Hands this year.

And thank you for volunteering your time, effort and resources to make our GV community and surrounding region better!


Now that our new GVCO Community Center complex is up and running we are much better equipped to organize, and will continue to execute additional community service initiatives and opportunities. Read below to learn about some of the things we will be kicking off and how you may become involved.

Caring Hands Organizational Meeting - Sept. 7th

All 2024-25 Caring Hands registrants are requested to attend an organizational meeting on Sept. 7th from 11:30AM - noon at the GVCO Community Center.


GVCO will be reviewing sign-ups, events calendar, volunteer hours tracking, along with a Q&A session.

Community Work Day at GVCO - Sept. 7th

GVCO needs your help in preparing the new field and sprucing up the entrance area. The area needs raking, picking up stray rocks, spreading mulch and planting flowers.


Additional details and a sign up will be released soon. Rain date Sept. 8th.

Charlestown Day 2024

The annual Charlestown Day will take place at Charlestown Park on September 28th.


GVCO will need volunteers to help set up, clean up, and work event booths from 10:30-3:30 to help out with this event. Keep an eye out for a sign up link if you are interested in being a part of this opportunity.

GVCO is looking to host its very own Community Work Day this fall. This fun event will combine community service and togetherness at our community center. Further details will be provided soon!

American Red Cross Blood Drive

Red Cross Blood Drive

This fall, GVCO is hosting the American Red Cross for another blood drive! We had great success in March and hope the community steps up again in September!


From now on, every September and March, GVCO will host a blood drive. For more information, please email community@gvco.org.

Cradles to Crayons

GVCO is hosting Cradles to Crayons donation days once again this Fall. Cradles to Crayons helps provide children up to 12 years old with essential items they need to thrive. Stay tuned for more information on how you can sign up to volunteer for this program.

Sign Up for GVCO Caring Hands

GVCO Caring Hands is looking for new student volunteers for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year! All rising 7th-12th grade students are eligible to sign up!

It's a great way to make an impact while helping others in our community and region!

Volunteers can sign up for as many events and shifts as they'd like. Caring Hands updates will be sent via Constant Contact to both parents and students.

Caring Hands is a student-led volunteer group that supports the community through various activities. Students in grades 7-12 and their parents can sign up for the Constant Contact Caring Hands News distribution list for the 2022-23 school year. More upcoming event information can be found on Caring Hands News & Updates.

All Caring Hands members should join Remind. Parents are welcome to sign up too!


Remind will be used to send more frequent, real-time event updates and signup links.

Medicare 101 Seminars

There are important changes to 2025 Prescription Drug Plans. Learn about these changes and how to prepare for additional 2025 changes by attending one of the Medicare 101 seminars hosted by Dana Matkovic at GVCO this fall!


The Medicare open enrollment period falls between October 15th and December 7th, so make sure to attend these sessions if you have questions!

Our free fall seminars will take place on Tuesday September 24th and Tuesday October 22nd at the GVCO Community Center.

Furever Loved Pet Seminar

Is it an Emergency? Tips & Tricks to Prevent a Trip to the ER!

Join Carolyn Santore on October 9th from 7-8pm at the GVCO Community Center to learn about pet emergencies and what you can do at home to prevent a costly trip to the pet ER.


Topics that will be discussed include vomiting, diarrhea, seizures, toxins, pain, limping, lacerations, licking, ear infections, panting, trouble breathing, and more (time permitting)!
