BIOGRAPHIES

Charu Chanana

Head of FX Strategy and Global Market Strategist, Saxo Markets


Charu Chanana joined Saxo in 2022 as a Global Market Strategist and was appointed as the Head of FX Strategy in late 2023. Chanana’s primary responsibility is to deliver strategies and analysis in global currency markets based on fundamentals and changes in macroeconomics and monetary policy. Based in Singapore, Chanana also supports the coverage of a broad range of asset classes, particularly focusing on Japan, India and Southeast Asia. Chanana brings over 12 years of experience in financial markets, with roles in equity research and a background as an economist. She is also a regular on Tier 1 media and is frequently invited to be on Bloomberg, CNBC, BBC and CNA.


Christine Yu

Co-founder, Sophia


Christine Yu is Co-Founder of Sophia, a financial education platform focused on women’s wealth in Asia and beyond. Through Sophia, Christine is on a mission to bring greater diversity, inclusion and innovation to the investment ecosystem. Christine’s global career spans over two decades across impact finance, innovation, venture building and the international capital markets. Prior to Christine’s venture building experience, the majority of Christine’s career was in the institutional debt capital markets at HSBC in both Hong Kong and New York. During her tenure at HSBC, she navigated through the rise of the Asian debt markets, including the first G3 currency private sector green bond in Asia Pacific, which prompted her move into impact investing. Passionate about investing, financial inclusion, financial literacy and the gender lens space, Christine co-founded a non-profit organization focused on closing the gender investing gap called Girls Just Wanna Have Fund$ (www.gjwhf.org). Christine is an impact investor, startup mentor and advisor. She holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Chicago and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
