Dear Friends,
Greetings from Sunny Colorado! We are delighted and so grateful to announce that we have 'closed' on the remaining parcels that constitute the Polestar Village Development. This is another huge milestone for us and we cannot express the depth of our gratitude to each of you who have helped make this possible! Though we have many challenges and plenty of hard work ahead, we want to savor this moment and acknowledge the contributions of all of you who have shared this journey with us. Spring has sprung with a flurry of creative activities. Plans are in motion to begin a Polestar Montessori Preschool at Unity of Fort Collins this fall. Our booth at the Fort Collins Earth Day Festival this weekend included the Polestar / Unity choir leading chants and a guided meditation. The Garden is shaping up for a productive season and we have a 'maha' workday on the land next weekend. Polestar Village Update
With the political aspects of our planning behind us, we are now taking reservations for specific lots or building products at Polestar Village. The first iteration of our 'FDP' (Final Development Plan) will be submitted in a few weeks and we are on track to break ground late this year. The Art of Communication: What is at the Heart of the Matter?
Honesty and Empathy
In an effort to improve our communication skills and invest in our own and each other's emotional well being, Polestar hosted a workshop on 'Compassionate Communication' last weekend (aka "Nonviolent Communication" / NVC). If you've never had the chance to learn about NVC, you can explore the basics here. Essentially, it is a training in emotional maturity! One introspects about the cause of one's feelings and begins to recognize the universality of all human needs, and our often fumbling attempts to meet them. A key to this approach (and to any deep and successful relationship) is taking responsibility for one's feelings and consciousness. This puts an end to the reactive process and grants us the freedom to act consciously in all our relations.

Volunteer Day on the Land!

A fun way to connect with each other, the sacred land and ourSelves! Now that Polestar owns all 20 acres, we will start taking down the fences, gardening, and so much more.
