Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week

Thank you to everyone for helping kick off Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week this morning! And special thanks to all the room parents who are taking great care of our classroom teachers.

Tomorrow, May 7th:

Remember to have your student bring two (2) single-stem flowers to school on Tuesday morning, one for their teacher and one for support staff. Picked from the yard or purchased – simple is great! Room parents will be greeting students at classroom doors as they arrive for the day, gathering the flowers and assembling a unique vase for the classroom teachers. We will have some additional flowers available in each grade level commons to ensure all students can add a flower to the classroom vase.

More ways to help

Check out the calendar below to see our daily school-wide activities in store for the week. There are still a couple more ways to help out. Room parents are using our PTA directory to share any classroom-specific plans, so be sure to check in if you are not in the directory. Remember that simple things from the heart go a long way. Let’s sprinkle the week with gratitude!

Today's events: A recap in photos

Chair massages for teachers

Two GHE parents (Marian DiPerna and Shelley Kestner) recruited some colleagues and donated their time and skills as

licensed massage therapists to provide a little R&R during lunch breaks.

They gave 20+ chair massages!

Personalized posters

We had so many kids excited to sign posters this morning, and their kind words are now decorating the halls for the week!

Coffee delivery

PTA delivered 25+ personalized beverages to our incredible teachers and staff who are often behind the scenes, don’t lead a K-5 classroom. We’ll be back later in the week for a few more who don’t work at Genesee Hill on Mondays.
