The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) recently confirmed a case of measles in the metro Atlanta area. Traditionally, January through May is the peak time for the importation of measles infections to the United States. Therefore, DPH urges healthcare providers and those working in healthcare settings to maintain heightened awareness for patients with symptoms compatible with measles.
