One thing we do here at St. Alban’s is pray, which is a good thing. However, our Sunday prayer list is getting rather lengthy. In an effort to stay on top of our prayer list, we will keep folks on our Sunday morning prayer list for a month at a time. We ask that you inform Ernestine Ujah, our pastoral associate, if you wish to keep a person’s name on the list for the next month and we will add their name to the “continued prayers for” section. Please do let us know when healing has occurred so we can give thanks for that!
Questions?
Please contact Ernestine at

Thank you!

| Change in Worship Service Time Begins Pentecost Sunday, May 19 |
After thoughtful discussion of a number of considerations and a range of preferences and opinions, the Vestry has unanimously recommended that we return to one Sunday service to be held at 10:00 a.m. We will implement this schedule starting on Pentecost, which this year is Sunday, May 19.

| On the Baptism of His Granddaughter on Pentecost Sunday, May 19 |
To Our St. Alban’s Family,
Julie and I can’t tell you how excited we are to be able to witness the Baptism of our granddaughter, Wallace Mary Williams, on Pentecost Sunday, May 19. As you probably know, St. Alban’s has always played a large role in our spiritual lives. Julie was active with the Memorial Garden committee, Altar Guild and so much more. I served on the vestry eventually serving as your Senior Warden.
Baptisms are special at St. Alban’s. My mom was baptized there, my brother and sister were baptized at St. Alban’s (I was baptized at St. Mark’s in Upper Arlington), Peter, our oldest was baptized at St. Alban’s as well.
With the Baptism of Wallace, all our grandchildren will have been baptized at St. Alban’s. How special, indeed.
I would be remiss if I didn’t briefly reflect on Mom and Dad resting peacefully in the beautiful Memorial Garden. I’m sure their spirit and lovingness will be ever-present on this special day.

Wise People:
Prepare to Save Lives!
|
Plan to be at a special “Wise Women” event on Thursday, June 6 at 5 pm. We are encouraging Wise Men to join us as Officer Brirely from the Bexley Police Department trains us to respond to cardiac arrest with CPR and AEDs and to help people who are choking. If you want to be able to respond to these emergencies and potentially save lives, please come learn how. It’s simple and effective.
Officer Brirely will provide hands-on training from 5 – 6:30 pm and then we will have our traditional snacks, beverages, and socializing. Please arrive when we start to be sure you get trained. Please let Carolyn Christy (614/582-2403 cchristy@kira.net) know that you're a wise person planning to attend.
| Let's Have a Great Turkey Trot! |
The 2023 Turkey Trot was a big success, filling the streets of Bexley with runners and walkers and providing more money than ever for the Mid-Ohio Foodbank.
Now is the time to identify a chair for the 2024 event. Please let wardens Miranda Cox or Russ Rosler know if you might be willing to captain a team of volunteers to build on our past experience and continue our Thanksgiving tradition.

Star House "exist to do whatever it takes to lift youth
out of homelessness and into a community of hope."
Founded in 2006, Star House is a social service agency that operates Central Ohio's only drop-in center for youth, ages 14-24, who are experiencing homelessness. At our drop-in center, youth are provided immediate access to food, clothing, hygiene items, laundry facilities, showers, and a safe place to be, as well as access to therapy, case management, housing, transportation, health care, employment, education, addiction services, legal aid, government benefits, ID cards and more.
Star House, along with Finance Fund and the Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority, jointly owns and operates Carol Stewart Village (CSV) — an affordable neighborhood for young adults coming out of homelessness — it is the only housing village of its kind in Central Ohio for college-age youth who are exiting homelessness.
